Scripture
The Bible
Covenant
And recall when We took a covenant from you and the prophets, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, son of Mary. We took from them a solemn covenant. 33:7

We had already made a covenant with Adam, but he forgot, and We found no resolve in him. 20:115

O Children of Israel, We saved you from your enemy, made a covenant with you on the right side of the mountain, and sent down manna and quails for you. 20:80

And recall when We took your covenant and raised the mountain above you, saying, 'Hold firmly to what We have given you and remember its teachings, so that you may be mindful.' 2:63

And recall when We took your covenant and raised the mountain above you, saying, 'Hold firmly to what We have given you and listen.' But they said, 'We hear and disobey,' and their hearts were filled with love for the calf. Say, 'How evil is what your faith commands if it leads you to such defiance!' 2:93

And remember when We took a covenant from the Children of Israel: 'Do not worship anyone but Allah, be kind to parents, relatives, orphans, and the needy. Speak kindly to people, establish prayer, and give charity.' But you turned away, except for a few, and you were heedless. 2:83

We raised the mountain above them as a sign of their covenant, commanding them to enter the gate in humility and to honour the Sabbath. We took from them a solemn pledge. 4:154

But they broke their covenant, rejected Allah’s signs, and killed the prophets unjustly, claiming, “Our hearts are sealed.” No, Allah has sealed them due to their disbelief, so only a few truly believe. 4:155

Those who trade Allah’s covenant and their oaths for a fleeting gain will have no share in the Hereafter. Allah will neither speak to them nor look at them on the Day of Judgment, nor will He purify them. 3:77

Allah took a covenant from the Children of Israel, appointing twelve leaders among them. He said, “I am with you, if you establish prayer, give charity, believe in My messengers, support them, and lend to Allah a good loan, I will erase your sins and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow. But whoever turns away has strayed far.” 5:12

Yet they broke their covenant, so We cursed them and hardened their hearts. They distort words from their places and neglect much of what they were commanded. You will always find treachery among them, except for a few. But pardon them and overlook, for Allah loves those who act with grace. 5:13

We took a covenant from those who said, “We are Christians,” but they too forgot much of what they were taught. So We stirred enmity and hatred among them until the Day of Resurrection. Allah will inform them of what they did. 5:14

Then successors came after them who inherited the Scripture but chose the fleeting gains of this world, saying, “We will be forgiven.” Yet if similar gains came their way, they would seize them again. Was the covenant of the Scripture not that they should only speak the truth about Allah? They studied it well. But the Hereafter is better for those who are mindful, will you not understand? 7:169

Did I not make a covenant with you, O children of Adam, not to worship Satan? He is your sworn enemy, 36:60

Disbelief
O believers! Hold fast to faith in God, His Messenger, and the Book He sent down before. Whoever rejects faith has strayed far. 4:136

Belief
But those among them who are firm in knowledge and faith, who believe in what was revealed to you. 4:162

Muhammad is the Messenger of God. And those with him are firm against the disbelievers, gentle among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating, seeking grace from God and His pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. Their likeness in the Gospel is like a seed that sprouts, then strengthens, then thickens and rises firm upon its stalk, delighting the sower 48:29

Differing Belief
Yet none disputed it except those who had received it, after clear proofs had come to them, out of jealousy. Then Allah, by His grace, guided the believers to the truth regarding those disputes. 2:213, 3:19

That is because Allah has sent down the Book in truth, and those who dispute it are in extreme opposition. 2:176

Killing
Allah has purchased the lives and wealth of the believers in exchange for Paradise. They fight in His cause, slaying and being slain. This is a true promise in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran. 9:111

Rejecting
The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah but failed to uphold it is like a donkey carrying books. What a miserable example of people who reject God’s signs. 62:5

Torah
Indeed, We gave Moses the Book and sent messengers after him. 2:87

He sent down the Torah. 3:3

Allah will teach him the Torah. 3:48

I have come confirming the truth of the Torah before me. 3:50

All food was lawful for the Children of Israel except what they forbade themselves before the Torah was revealed. 3:93

Yet how can they seek your judgment when they have the Torah, in which is God’s ruling? 5:43

We revealed the Torah, containing guidance and light. 4:44

Then We sent Jesus, son of Mary, confirming the Torah before him. 5:46

Had they upheld the Torah, and what was sent to them from their Lord, they would have been showered with blessings from above and below. 5:66

Say, “O People of the Book! You stand on nothing unless you uphold the Torah, and what has been sent to you from your Lord.” 5:68

I taught you (Jesus) the Scripture, wisdom, and the Torah. 5:110

Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in the Torah and Gospel. 7:157

We gave Moses the Book, so do not doubt his encounter, and We made it guidance for the Children of Israel. 32:23

And when Jesus, son of Mary, said, “O Children of Israel, I am God’s messenger to you, confirming the Torah before me. 61:6

Psalms
And to David, We gave the Psalms. 4:163, 17:55

And We have already written in the Psalms, after the Reminder, that the earth shall be inherited by My righteous servants. 21:105

Gospel
He sent down the Gospel. 3:3

Allah will teach him the Gospel. 3:48

O People of the Book, why do you argue about Abraham when the Gospel was revealed long after him? 3:65

Had they upheld the Gospel, and what was sent to them from their Lord, they would have been showered with blessings from above and below. 5:66

Say, “O People of the Book! You stand on nothing unless you uphold the Gospel, and what has been sent to you from your Lord.” 5:68

I taught you the Scripture, wisdom, and the Gospel. 5:110

Then We sent Jesus, son of Mary, confirming the Torah before him. We gave him the Gospel, containing guidance and light, affirming the Torah and serving as guidance for the righteous. 5:46

Let the people of the Gospel judge by what God has revealed in it. Those who do not judge by God’s law are rebellious. 5:47

Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in the Torah and Gospel. 7:157

Then We sent Our messengers after them, and We sent Jesus, son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. 57:27

Supposed Bible Distortion
Distorting Verbally
Do you hope they will believe in you, when some of them used to hear Allah’s words, then knowingly distort them after understanding? 2:75

Some among the People of the Book twist words out of context, saying ‘Listen, but do not understand’ and distorting their speech to mock the faith. If they had said, ‘We hear and obey,’ it would have been better for them. But Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, and only a few truly believe. 4:46, 5:13

Among them are those who twist the Scripture with their tongues to make it seem as if it is from Allah, but it is not. They say, ‘This is from Allah,’ yet it is a lie. 3:78

Write Scripture
So, woe to those who write the Scripture with their own hands and then say, 'This is from Allah,' seeking a small gain. Woe to them for what their hands have written, and woe to them for what they earn. 2:79

Exchanged for Money
Those who trade Allah’s covenant and their oaths for a fleeting gain will have no share in the Hereafter. Allah will neither speak to them nor look at them on the Day of Judgment, nor will He purify them. They will face a painful punishment. 3:77

They are the ones who exchanged guidance for error and forgiveness for punishment—how patient they are in pursuit of the Fire! 2:175, 9:9

Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture yet trade guidance for misguidance, wishing you would stray from the path? 4:44

Forgotten
They distort words from their places and neglect much of what they were commanded. You will always find treachery among them, except for a few. 5:13

We took a covenant from those who said, “We are Christians,” but they too forgot much of what they were taught. 5:14

Ignorant
Among them are unlettered people who know nothing of the Scripture except wishful thinking, and they rely on mere assumptions. 2:78

Concealing
And when a messenger from Allah comes to them, confirming what they already have, some of those who received the Scripture cast it aside, as if they never knew it. 2:101, 3:71, 3:187, 6:91

Those to whom We have given the Scripture recognize this truth as they recognize their own children. Yet some knowingly conceal the truth. 2:146

Indeed, those who conceal what Allah has revealed in the Book and trade it for a small price consumes nothing but fire in their bellies. 2:174

Surely, those who conceal the clear proofs and guidance We have revealed, after We have made them known to humanity in the Book. 2:159

O People of the Book, why do you mix truth with falsehood and conceal the truth knowingly? 3:71

Remember when Allah took a covenant from those given the Scripture: ‘You must make it clear to people and not conceal it.’ But they cast it behind their backs and traded it for a small price. What a terrible bargain! 3:187

O People of the Book! Our Messenger has come to you, clarifying much that you concealed from the scriptures, while overlooking much. 5:15

Repentance
Except for those who repent, mend their ways, and openly declare the truth, these I will accept in mercy. 2:160

Quran Confirms the Bible
Believe
O believers! Hold fast to faith in God, His Messenger, and the Book He sent down before. Whoever rejects faith has strayed far. 4:136

Sent Down
He sent down the Torah and the Gospel 3:3

Believe in what I have sent down. 2:41

When it was said to them, 'Believe in what Allah has sent down,' they replied, 'We believe only in what was revealed to us.' Yet they reject what came after, even though it confirms their own scripture. 2:91

Say, 'Whoever opposes Gabriel should know that he brings revelation by Allah’s command, confirming what came before, as guidance and good news for the believers.' 2:97

That is because Allah has sent down the Book in truth, and those who dispute it are in extreme opposition. 2:176

O believers! Hold fast to faith in God, His Messenger, and the Book He sent down before. 4:136

We revealed the Torah, containing guidance and light. 5:44

Say, “Who then sent down the Book that Moses brought, a light and guidance for people? 6:91

Confirming
He has revealed to you the Book in truth, confirming what came before it. 2:41, 2:89, 2:91, 2:97, 3:3, 3:81, 4:47, 5:44, 5:48, 6:92, 35:31, 46:12, 46:30

Unchangeable
No one can alter Allah’s words. 6:34, 6:115, 10:64, 18:27

Detailed
This Quran could not have been fabricated; it is a confirmation of what came before and a detailed explanation of the Book. 10:37, 12:111, 16:89

Disbelief
Those to whom We have given the Scripture recognize it as clearly as they recognize their own children. 6:20

And when a Book came to them from Allah, confirming what they already had, though they used to pray for victory over the disbelievers, they rejected it when it arrived, even though they recognized it. 2:89, 2:91, 2:101

Guidance and Light
We revealed the Torah, containing guidance and light. The prophets who submitted to God judged by it, as did the rabbis and scholars, entrusted to uphold God’s Book. 5:44, 6:91, 32:23, 40:53, 40:54, 45:16

Then We sent Jesus, son of Mary, confirming the Torah before him. We gave him the Gospel, containing guidance and light, affirming the Torah and serving as guidance for the righteous. 5:46

Judgment of Allah
Yet how can they seek your judgment when they have the Torah, in which is God’s ruling? 5:43

Let the people of the Gospel judge by what God has revealed in it. Those who do not judge by God’s law are rebellious. 5:47

Upholding
Had they upheld the Torah, the Gospel, and what was sent to them from their Lord, they would have been showered with blessings from above and below. Some among them are upright, but many act wickedly. 5:66

Say, “O People of the Book! You stand on nothing unless you uphold the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been sent to you from your Lord.” 5:68

Jews and Christians
If you doubt what We have revealed to you, ask those who have read the Scripture before you. 10:94, 16:43, 21:7

We sent them with clear proofs and scriptures. 16:44
