Believers
Muslims and Allah
Remembering Allah
O people, you are the ones in need of Allah, while Allah is the Self-sufficient. 35:15

O believers, remember Allah often, 33:41

Those who are with your Lord glorify Him night and day, never tiring. 41:38

Surely, those nearest to your Lord are never too proud to worship Him. They glorify Him, and to Him they bow in submission. 7:206

And glorify Him morning and evening. 7:205, 33:42

Their prayer there will be, “Glory be to You, O Allah,” and their greeting will be “Peace.” The last of their prayer will be, “Praise be to Allah." 10:10

Remember Allah during the appointed days. But whoever hastens in two days, there is no blame, 2:203

By day, you are occupied with long engagements. 73:7

So, remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with full devotion. 73:8

And worship your Lord until certainty comes to you. 15:99

Invoking Allah
Say, “If calamity were to strike you, or the final Hour were to come, would you call upon anyone other than Allah, if you are truthful?” 6:40

Call upon Him with hope and fear 7:56

Those who do not invoke other gods besides Allah, nor take a life unjustly. 25:68

No! It is Him alone you call upon, and if He wills, He removes your distress. Yet you forget Him when relief comes. 6:41

Patience
O believers, seek strength through patience and prayer; surely, Allah is with those who persevere. 2:45, 2:153

So be patient, Allah’s promise is true. Let not those who lack certainty unsettle you. 30:60

So be patient with graceful patience. 70:5

They see it as distant, 70:6

But We see it as near. 70:7

The steadfast will be rewarded beyond measure." 39:10

Yet none attain this except those who are patient, and none attain it except those who are truly fortunate. 41:35

Submission
No! Whoever submits to Allah with sincerity and does good will have their reward with their Lord. They will have no fear, nor will they grieve. 2:112

“O My servants, you will have no fear today, nor will you grieve.” 43:68

Has the time not come for hearts to soften in awe of Allah’s remembrance and the truth He has sent? Do not be like those who received the Book before, whose hearts hardened over time, and many among them strayed. 57:16

Repentance
Allah wishes to forgive you, but those who follow their desires want you to stray far from the right path. 4:27

Except for those who repent, believe, and do righteous deeds, for them, Allah will transform their sins into good. 25:70

Repentance is accepted by Allah from those who sin out of ignorance and then quickly turn back. Allah forgives them 4:17

Allah is Most Forgiving 4:16

He is the One who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons their misdeeds. He knows all that you do. 42:25

Except for the helpless men, women, and children, who had no means or guidance to escape. 4:98

For them, Allah may grant pardon 4:99

Whoever repents and does good, he truly turns to Allah in sincerity. 25:71

Turn to Allah in repentance, all of you believers, so that you may succeed. 24:31

But whoever repents, believes, and does good, perhaps he will be among the successful. 28:67

Forgiveness
Say, "O My servants who have wronged themselves, do not despair of Allah’s mercy. He forgives all sins. 39:53

And those who, when they commit a sin or wrong themselves, remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins, who forgives sins except Allah? And do not persist in wrongdoing knowingly. 3:135

Their reward is forgiveness from their Lord 3:136, 24:26

He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. 48:14

“He is the One who settled us in the Home of Everlasting Peace, by His grace. 35:35

Allah promises you forgiveness and abundance. 2:268

Your Lord has inscribed mercy upon Himself. Whoever commits wrongdoing out of ignorance and then repents and reforms, Allah is truly Forgiving, 6:12, 6:54

Whoever does good, it is for his own soul, and whoever does evil, it is against it. Your Lord is never unjust to His servants. 41:46

Except those who believe and do good, and encourage truth, and urge patience. 103:3

Those who believe and do good, we will erase their sins and reward them according to the best of what they did. 29:7

But those who believe and do good, Allah will guide them through their faith. 10:9

Those who believe and do good, for them is forgiveness and a generous reward. 22:50, 48:29

Those who believe and do good, we will admit them among the righteous. 29:9

Those who do not bear false witness, and when they pass by idle talk, they pass with dignity. 25:72

Those who, when reminded of their Lord’s signs, do not turn away as if deaf and blind. 25:73

“You who believed in Our signs and submitted, 43:69

Those who pray, “Our Lord, grant us joy in our spouses and children, and make us leaders of the righteous.” 25:74

These will be rewarded with lofty dwellings for their patience and greeted with peace and honour. 25:75

Support Allah
O you who believe! If you support Allah’s cause, He will support you and steady your steps. 47:7

Seeking Approval
Among people are those who sell themselves in pursuit of Allah’s pleasure. 2:207

Only the pleasure of his Lord, the Most-High. 92:20

And soon he will be content. 92:21

Strong in Love
Yet among people are those who take others as equals to Allah, loving them as they should love Him. But true believers love Allah above all. If only the wrongdoers could see the punishment awaiting them, they would realize that all power belongs to Allah 2:165

Success
Today, I have rewarded them for their patience; they are indeed the triumphant.” 23:111

Then, We made you successors on earth after them, to see how you would act. 10:14

He is the One who made you successors on earth. 35:39

Purify
Have you not seen those who falsely elevate themselves? It is Allah who elevates whoever He wills, and none will be wronged even by the width of a thread. 4:49

Were it not for Allah’s grace and mercy, none of you would have been purified. But Allah purifies whom He wills. 24:21

So do not claim purity for yourselves; He knows best who is truly mindful. 53:32

Day of Resurrection
Say, “Who has forbidden the adornments and good provisions that Allah has granted His servants?” Say, “They are for those who believe, in this life and exclusively in the Hereafter.” 7:32

You will receive your full reward on the Day of Judgment. 3:185

‘Our Lord, grant us what You promised through Your messengers, and do not disgrace us on the Day of Judgment. You never fail in Your promise.’ 3:194

But those gifted with knowledge and faith will say, “You remained as Allah decreed until the Day of Resurrection, this is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not know.” 30:56

Death
There is none in the heavens or the earth who does not come to Him as a servant. 19:93

He reigns supreme over His servants, sending guardians to watch over you. When death comes, His messengers take the soul without fail. 6:61

Every soul will taste death, then to Us you will be returned. 29:57

Every soul will taste death, and you will receive your full reward on the Day of Judgment. Whoever is saved from the Fire and admitted into Paradise has truly succeeded. The life of this world is nothing but fleeting enjoyment. 3:185

Say, “Act, and Allah will see your deeds, as will His Messenger and the believers. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the seen, and He will inform you of what you did.” 9:105

Then they are returned to Allah, their true Master. Is He not the ultimate Judge? 6:62

Provision
He is the One who shows you His signs and sends down sustenance from the sky. But none takes heed except those who turn to Him. 40:13

Allah extends provision abundantly or restricts it for whomever He wills. 13:26, 17:30, 28:82, 29:62, 30:37, 34:36, 34:39, 39:52, 42:12

For them is forgiveness and a noble reward. 24:26

But whatever you spend, He replaces it. 34:39

Do not strain your eyes toward the splendour We have given some of them; it is only a test. The provision of your Lord is far better and everlasting. 20:131

Forceful against Unbelievers
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. And those with him are firm against the disbelievers, gentle among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating, seeking grace from Allah and His pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. That is their likeness in the Torah. And their likeness in the Gospel is like a seed that sprouts, then strengthens, then thickens and rises firm upon its stalk, delighting the sower, so that through them He may enrage the disbelievers. 48:29

Mission
“I am only commanded to worship the Lord of this land, who made it sacred, to Him belongs all things. And I am commanded to be among those who submit.” 27:91

“And to recite the Qur’an. Whoever is guided, is guided for himself; and whoever goes astray, say, ‘I am only a warner.’” 27:92

And say, “Praise be to Allah, He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them. 27:93

"And I have been commanded to be among those who submit." 39:12

Say: “O my people, act according to your position, and I will act according to mine. Soon, you will know who will have the best outcome in the Hereafter. 6:135, 39:39

Attributes of Believers
Believers
There was a group of My servants who used to say, ‘Our Lord, we believe, so forgive us and have mercy on us. You are the best of the merciful.’ 23:109

Except those upon whom Allah has mercy. 44:42

The Righteous
Among us are the righteous, and others less so, we follow many different paths. 72:11

His mercy is near to those who do good. 7:56

But the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 51:15

Receiving what their Lord has granted them. 51:16

We realized we could never escape Allah on earth, nor flee from Him by running. 72:12

When we heard the guidance, we believed in it. Whoever believes in their Lord need not fear loss or injustice. 72:13

But those who bring the truth and believe in it, these are the righteous. 39:33

Doers of Good
They will have whatever they desire with their Lord. This is the reward for those who do good. 39:34

Surely, Allah is with those who do good. 16:128

They used to sleep little at night, 51:17

And in the early dawns, they sought forgiveness. 51:18

And in their wealth was a share for the beggar and the deprived. 51:19

On the earth are signs for those with certainty, 51:20

And within yourselves, do you not see? 51:21

And in the sky is your provision and what you are promised. 51:22

Whoever has done an atom’s weight of good will see it, 99:7

But if you act rightly and remain mindful of Allah, He is fully aware of your deeds. 4:128

Those who recite Allah’s Book, establish prayer, and give from what We’ve provided them, secretly and openly, can hope for a trade that will never fail. 35:29

So that Allah may remove their worst deeds and reward them according to the best of what they did. 39:35

He will give them their full reward and increase them from His bounty. 35:30

They were doers of good before this. 51:16

But those who tremble in awe of their Lord, 23:57

Who believe in His signs, 23:58

Who do not associate others with their Lord, 23:59

And who gives what they give with hearts fearful, knowing they will return to their Lord 23:60

We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity. And with Us is a record that speaks the truth; they will not be wronged. 23:62

But their hearts are heedless of this, and their deeds are different from what is right. They continue in their excesses. 23:63

Good Words
Pure women are for pure men, and pure men for pure women. They are innocent of what is said about them 24:26

Believers, when you hold secret meetings, do not whisper about sin, hostility, and defiance of the Messenger. Instead, speak of righteousness and mindfulness of Allah. 58:9

Say, "O My servants who believe, be mindful of your Lord. For those who do good in this world, there is goodness. 39:10

And reward the doers of good with the best. 53:31

And when the righteous are asked, “What has your Lord sent down?” They say, “Goodness.” For those who do good in this world, there is goodness, and the home of the Hereafter is even better. How splendid is the home of the righteous! 16:30

O believers, fear Allah and speak befitting words. 33:70

You who believe, be mindful of Allah, and let every soul consider what it has sent ahead for tomorrow. 59:18

Spending
They establish prayer and spend from what We have provided them. 8:3

These are the true believers; they will have high ranks with their Lord and forgiveness. 8:4

Believers, when you seek private counsel with the Messenger, offer charity before speaking with him. This is better and purer for you. But if you lack the means, Allah is forgiving and merciful. 58:12

Are you reluctant to offer charity before your private counsel? If you do not, and Allah forgives you, then establish prayer, give charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. 58:13

Words of Peace
The servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk humbly upon the earth, and when the ignorant address them harshly, they respond with peace. 25:63

O believers! Respond to Allah and His Messenger when he calls you to what gives you life. Know that Allah stands between a person and their heart. 8:24

Avoid major sins and shameful deeds, and forgive when angered. 42:37

So, turn away from them and say, “Peace.” They will soon come to know. 43:89

Do what you Say
You who believe, why do you say what you do not do? 61:2

It is deeply detested in Allah’s sight that you say what you do not do. 61:3

Private Conversation
There is little good in their secret talks, except for those who encourage charity, kindness, or reconciliation. Whoever does this seeking Allah’s pleasure, We will grant them a great reward. 4:114

believers, when you hold secret meetings, do not whisper about sin, hostility, and defiance of the Messenger. Instead, speak of righteousness and mindfulness of Allah. 58:9

Warning
“O my people, do not let your opposition to me lead you to suffer what befell Noah’s people, or Hud’s people, or Salih’s people. The people of Lot were not far from you.” 11:89

Do not spread
corruption on the earth after it has been set right. 7:56

He sends the Spirit by His command to whomever He wills among His servants, to warn of the Day of Meeting. 40:15

Sin
Whoever sins does so against their own soul. 4:111

But whoever earns a sin and falsely blames another has burdened themselves with slander and clear wrongdoing. 4:112

Those who avoid major sins and shameful acts, except for small slips, Your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He knows you well, from when He created you from the earth, and when you were hidden in your mothers’ wombs. 53:32

The Afterlife
Whatever you have been given is merely the enjoyment of this worldly life, but what is with Allah is far better and everlasting, for those who believe, trust in their Lord, 42:36

What is with Allah is far better for the righteous. 3:198, 16:95

“We are your allies in this life and the Hereafter. In it, you will have whatever your souls desire, and whatever you ask for.” 41:31

“A welcoming gift from the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.” 41:32

Those who plead, “Our Lord, turn away from us the torment of Hell, its punishment is relentless. 25:65

General Details
Straight Path
Allah has promised those among you who believe and do good that He will grant them succession in the land, just as He did for those before them; He will establish for them their faith, the one He has chosen for them, and replace their fear with security. They will worship Me alone, not associating anything with Me. 24:55

But whoever does righteous deeds while believing will fear no injustice or deprivation. 20:112

Indeed, those who say, “Our Lord is Allah,” and then remain steadfast, no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve. 46:13

As for those who believe and do good, He will grant them their reward in full and increase them in His bounty. 4:173

O children of Adam! If messengers come to you, reciting My signs, then whoever is mindful and reforms will have no fear nor grief. 7:35

Those given knowledge see that what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, guiding to the path of Allah 34:6

And to worship Me alone? This is the straight path. 36:61

“This is My straight path, so follow it. Do not follow other ways, lest they lead you away from His path. This He has commanded you, so that you may be mindful.” 6:153

If they had stayed true to the path, We would have given them abundant water to drink, 72:16

Those who believe in Allah and His Messenger are the truthful ones and witnesses before their Lord. They shall have their reward and their light. 57:19

Clear proofs have come to you from your Lord. Whoever sees the truth does so for their own benefit, and whoever turns away does so at their own loss. 6:104

Guide us to the straight path 1:6

The path of those whom You have blessed 1:7

He guides whom He wills to a path that is straight and true. 2:142, 2:213, 5:16

Whoever does righteous deeds while believing, his efforts will not be denied, and We will make a record of them. 21:94

Except those who believe, do good, remember Allah often, and defend themselves after being wronged. 26:227

When injustice befalls them, they defend themselves. 42:39

And whoever does good, they are preparing for themselves, 30:44

So that He may reward those who believe and do good from His bounty. 30:45

They regard it as a favour to you that they have submitted. Say: Do not regard your submission as a favour to me. Rather, it is Allah who has favoured you by guiding you to faith, if you are truthful. 49:17

As for those who believe in Allah and hold fast to Him, He will admit them into His mercy and grace and guide them to Himself on a straight path. 4:175

Or We may show you what We promised them. 43:42

Hold fast to what has been revealed to you, you are upon a straight path. 43:43

It is a reminder for you and your people, and you will be questioned. 43:44

Among those We created is a community that guides with truth and establishes justice accordingly. 7:181

Whoever holds firmly to Allah is truly guided. 3:101

Allah calls to the home of peace and guides whom He wills to the straight path. 10:25

Allah guides whom He wills and leaves others to wander astray. 6:39

These are the ones truly guided by their Lord, and they will be successful." 2:5

These are upon guidance from their Lord, and they are the truly successful. 31:5

True believers are those whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned, whose faith strengthens when His verses are recited, and who place their trust in their Lord. 8:2

Rightly Guided
Believers, when you are told to make room in gatherings, do so, and Allah will make room for you. When you are told to rise, then rise. Allah will elevate those among you who believe and those given knowledge. He is fully aware of what you do. 58:11

I respond to the call of the supplicant when they call upon Me. So let them respond to Me and believe in Me, so that they may be rightly guided. 2:186

Do not turn away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His pleasure. You are not accountable for them, nor are they accountable for you. If you were to dismiss them, you would be among the unjust. 6:52

Those who listen to the word and follow the best of it are the ones whom Allah has guided, and they are the people of understanding. 39:18

Who is better in speech than one who calls to Allah, does righteousness, and says, “I am among those who submit”? 41:33

‘Our Lord, we have heard a caller inviting us to faith, saying, “Believe in your Lord,” and we have believed. So, forgive our sins, erase our misdeeds, and grant us a righteous end.’ 3:193

These were the ones guided by Allah, so follow their guidance. Say, “I ask no reward for this; it is only a reminder for all people.” 6:90

Do the believers not realize that had He willed, He could have guided all people? 13:31

They pray, ‘Our Lord, do not let our hearts stray after You have guided us. Grant us mercy from Yourself. 3:8

Tested
We will surely test you with fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives, and crops. 2:155

Whatever misfortune befalls you is due to what your hands have earned, yet He pardons much. 42:30

Or He may cause them to perish for what they have earned, yet He pardons much. 42:34

Those who, when afflicted, say, ‘We belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.’ 2:156

Upon them are blessings and mercy from their Lord, and they are the rightly guided. 2:157

We will test you until We make clear those who strive among you and those who are steadfast. And We will expose your claims. 47:31

Beware of a trial that will not only afflict the wrongdoers among you. 8:25

Know that your wealth and children are a test. 8:28

You will surely be tested in your wealth and yourselves, and you will hear much abuse from those who were given the Scripture before you and from the polytheists. But if you remain patient and mindful of Allah, that is the best course. 3:186

“So that Allah may refine the hearts of the faithful, tempering them through trials 3:141

Worldly Life
You desire the gains of this world, but Allah desires the Hereafter. 8:67

The life of this world is but play and distraction. But if you believe and are mindful, He will give you your rewards and not ask for all your wealth. 47:36

This worldly life is nothing but play and amusement, 6:32, 13:26

Good and Bad Deeds
Whoever does good, it is for his own soul; and whoever does evil, it is against it. Then to your Lord you will all return. 45:15

And whoever does good willingly, Allah is Most Appreciative. 2:158

Indeed, your striving is diverse. 92:4

Whoever earns a good deed, We shall increase its goodness for him. 42:23

Whoever comes with good deeds will have better than what they brought, and will be safe from the terror of that Day. 27:89

These are the ones who race toward good deeds, and they are the first to reach them. 23:61

Then We passed the Book to those We chose among Our servants. Some wrong themselves, some are moderate, and some race ahead in good deeds by Allah’s permission. That is the great favour. 35:32

Good and evil are not equal; repel evil with what is better, and you will find that the one who was your enemy becomes your close friend. 41:34

And Allah increases guidance for those who seek it. Lasting good deeds are better in reward with your Lord and better in outcome. 19:76

Seeking Forgiveness
These are those who say, ‘Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive our sins and protect us from the torment of the Fire.’ 3:16

Remember when you were few and oppressed in the land, fearing that people might seize you. Then He sheltered you, strengthened you, and provided for you, so that you might be grateful. 8:26

“Be grateful to Allah.” Whoever is grateful benefits himself. 2:172, 31:12

Why would Allah punish you if you are grateful and faithful? 4:147

They are the patient, the truthful, the devout, the generous, and those who seek forgiveness before dawn. 3:17

Persevere
O believers, remain steadfast, persevere, and strengthen one another. 3:200

O believers! Stand firm in justice, bearing witness for Allah, even against yourselves, parents, or kin. Whether rich or poor, Allah is closer to all. Do not let personal desires sway you from truth. If you distort or evade justice, Allah is fully aware of your actions. 4:135

O believers! Stand firm in justice, bearing witness for Allah, even against yourselves, parents, or kin. Whether rich or poor, Allah is closer to all. Do not let personal bias sway you from truth. If you distort or evade justice, Allah is fully aware of your actions. 5:8

Replaceable
If He wills, He can remove you and bring forth a new people. 4:133

If He wills, He can remove you and bring forth a new creation. 14:19, 35:16

Your Lord is Self-Sufficient, Full of Mercy. If He wills, He can replace you with others, just as He raised you from the descendants of others. 6:133

What you are promised will surely come to pass, and you cannot escape. 6:134

If We willed, We could take away what We revealed to you 17:86

Rewarded
For those who respond to their Lord is the best reward. 13:18

Those who hold firmly to the Scripture and establish prayer, We will not let their efforts go to waste. 7:170

Can one who knows that what has been sent down to you from your Lord is the truth be like one who is blind? Only those with understanding will take heed. 13:19

Those who fulfil their covenant with Allah and do not break their pledge, 13:20

Who maintain the ties that Allah has commanded to be upheld, who stand in awe of their Lord and fear a dreadful reckoning, 13:21

Who remain patient, seeking their Lord’s pleasure, establish prayer, spend from what We have provided, both secretly and openly, and repel evil with good. For them is the ultimate home. 13:22

Those who believe and find peace in the remembrance of Allah, indeed, in the remembrance of Allah, hearts find rest. 13:28

For those who believe and do righteous deeds, there is bliss and a beautiful return. 13:29

But those for whom the finest outcome has already been decreed by Us, they will be kept far from it. 21:101

They will not even hear its hiss, and they will dwell forever in what their souls desire. 21:102

The Great Terror will not grieve them, and the angels will greet them: “This is your Day, the one you were promised.” 21:103

Emigrates for Allah
But those who emigrated after being persecuted, then struggled and endured 16:110

Whoever migrates for Allah’s cause will find many places of refuge and abundance on earth. And whoever leaves home, emigrating to Allah and His Messenger, and then death overtakes them, their reward is assured with Allah. 4:100

Whatever gains Allah turned over to His Messenger from the people of the towns belongs to Allah, the Messenger, close relatives, orphans, the needy, and the traveller, so that wealth does not circulate only among the rich among you. Whatever the Messenger gives you, take it; and whatever he forbids you, abstain. 59:7

It is also for the poor emigrants who were driven from their homes and wealth, seeking Allah’s favour and pleasure, and supporting Allah and His Messenger. They are the truthful ones. 59:8

And those who settled in the city and embraced faith before them love those who emigrated to them. They find no envy in their hearts for what the emigrants were given, but prefer them over themselves, even if they are in need. Whoever is protected from the stinginess of their soul, it is they who will succeed. 59:9

It was not fitting for the people of Medina and those around them to stay behind when Allah’s Messenger marched forth, nor to prefer their own comfort over his. They did not suffer thirst, fatigue, or hunger in Allah’s cause, nor take a step that enraged the enemy, nor gain anything from them, without it being recorded as a righteous deed. Allah does not let the reward of the righteous go to waste. 9:120

So their Lord responded, ‘I will never let the deeds of any among you go to waste, whether male or female, you are of one another. Those who emigrated, were expelled, suffered in My cause, fought, and were killed, I will erase their sins and admit them into gardens beneath which rivers flow, as a reward from Allah. With Him lies the finest reward.’ 3:195

As for those who left their homes for Allah’s cause, then were killed or died, Allah will surely provide for them a good provision. Truly, Allah is the best of providers. 22:58

He will admit them to a place they will be pleased with. 22:59

That is so. And whoever responds in kind after being wronged, yet is then oppressed again, Allah will surely help him. 22:60

Those who emigrated for Allah after being wronged, We will grant them a good home in this world, but the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if only they knew. 16:41

Those who endure patiently and trust in their Lord. 16:42

Found
Did He not find you orphaned and shelter you? 93:6

And find you lost, then guide you? 93:7

And find you in need, then enrich you? 93:8

So do not mistreat the orphan, 93:9

Nor turn away the seeker. 93:10

But proclaim the blessings of your Lord. 93:11

Harm
Those who harm believing men and women unjustly bear the burden of slander and clear sin. 33:58

O believers, do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly, except by trading with mutual consent. And do not kill yourselves. 4:29

O you who believe, do not be like those who hurt Moses, Allah cleared him of what they alleged, and he was held in high esteem before Allah. 33:69

The Best People
You are the best community raised for humanity, you enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and believe in Allah. 3:110

Allah intends to lighten your burden, for humanity was created weak. 4:28

Be forgiving, command what is right, 7:199

Who is better in faith than one who submits wholly to Allah, does good, and follows the way of Abraham, whom Allah chose as a close friend? 4:125

Do not falter or grieve, for you will be superior if you are true believers. 3:139

While those who believe and do good are the best of creation. 98:7

Brothers
Believers are but one family, so reconcile between your brothers 49:10

Not Divided
Hold tightly to the rope of Allah together and do not be divided. 3:103

Let there be a community among you that calls to goodness, enjoins justice, and forbids wrongdoing, these are the successful ones. 3:104

A believer should never kill another believer, except by mistake. 4:92

Be Nice
O you who believe, let not one group mock another, it may be that they are better than them. Nor let women ridicule other women, it may be that they are better than them. Do not defame one another, nor call each other by offensive nicknames. How evil is a name that marks one as sinful after faith. And whoever does not repent, such are the wrongdoers. 49:11

Do not insult those they invoke besides Allah, lest they insult Allah in ignorance. Thus, We have made every people’s deeds seem fair to them. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them of what they used to do. 6:108

Tell My servants to speak in the best manner. 17:53

A kind word and forgiveness are better than charity followed by injury. 2:263

Tell those who believe to forgive those who do not expect the Days of Allah, so that He may repay people for what they have earned. 45:14

O you who believe, avoid much suspicion, for some suspicion is sinful. Do not spy on one another, nor backbite. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would detest it. 49:12

O humanity, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Surely the most honoured among you in Allah’s sight is the most mindful. 49:13

Disassociating from Unbelievers
So, turn away from those who turn away from Our reminder, and desire nothing but the life of this world. 7:199, 53:29

That is the extent of their knowledge. 53:30

When those who were followed disown their followers, and all ties between them are severed, 2:166

The followers will cry, 'If only we had another chance, we would abandon them as they have abandoned us!' Thus does Allah show them their deeds as regrets. 2:167

O believers, if you obey those who disbelieve, they will turn you back, and you will become losers. 3:149

Rather, Allah is your Protector. 3:150

Die as a Muslim
O believers, be mindful of Allah as He deserves, and do not die except in submission to Him. 3:102

Forbidden
O believers! Intoxicants, gambling, idolatrous offerings, and divining arrows are vile works of Satan, so avoid them that you may succeed. 5:90

O believers! Do not forbid the good things Allah has made lawful, nor exceed the limits. Allah does not love transgressors. 5:87

Tidings
But those who shun false gods and turn to Allah will receive good news. So, give glad tidings to My servants. 39:17

Their Lord gives them good news of mercy and pleasure 9:21

And give good news to those who do good. 22:37

But give glad tidings to those who endure 2:155

Give glad tidings to those who believe 2:25, 2:223, 9:112, 10:2, 10:87, 18:2, 33:47, 61:13

Bringing good news to the believers who do righteous deeds 2:25, 18:2

Give good news to the righteous 19:97

That is the good news Allah gives to His servants who believe and do good. Say: I ask no reward from you for this, except love among kin. 42:23

And give good news to the humble, 22:34

Whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned, who endure hardship patiently, establish prayer, and give from what We provided. 22:35

Oaths
Do not make Allah’s name an excuse to avoid doing good, being mindful, or reconciling between people. 2:224

Allah does not hold you accountable for unintentional oaths, but He does for what your hearts truly intend. And Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Forbearing. 2:225

They swear by Allah with their strongest oaths: “If you command us, we will surely go forth.” Say: “Do not swear, your obedience is already known. 24:53

Allah does not hold you accountable for thoughtless oaths, but He does for those made with intent. The expiation is feeding ten needy people, clothing them, or freeing a slave. If unable, then fasting for three days. Keep your oaths. 5:89

Fulfill your pledges when you make them, and do not break oaths after confirming them, for you have made Allah your witness. Surely, Allah knows what you do. 16:91

Do not use your oaths to deceive one another, lest your feet slip after being firm, and you taste punishment for turning others away from Allah’s path. 16:94

Then the believers will say, “Are these the ones who swore by Allah that they stood with us?” Their deeds have been rendered void, and they are now among the lost. 5:53

Trust
And they say, ‘Only trust those who follow your faith.’ Say, ‘True guidance is Allah’s guidance.’ If they fear that someone else may receive knowledge like theirs or argue against them before their Lord, say, ‘All bounty is in Allah’s hand. 3:73

O believers! Do not ask about matters which, if revealed, may trouble you. If you ask while the Quran is being sent down, they will be made clear. 5:101

Beliefs
Belief in Previous Prophets
Say, 'We believe in Allah and in what was revealed to us, and in what was sent to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the tribes, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus, and in what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between them, and to Him we submit.' 2:136

Indeed, the closest to Abraham are those who truly follow him, as well as this Prophet and those who believe. 3:68

He has ordained for you the same faith He enjoined upon Noah, and what We revealed to you, and what We commanded Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: uphold the faith and do not be divided therein. 42:13

Yet those who believe in Allah and His messengers, making no distinction between them, will receive their reward. 4:152

Belief in Revelation
They believe in what was revealed to you, O Prophet, and what was sent down before you, and they are certain of the Hereafter. 2:4

Those who will succeed
Give glad tidings to those who believe and do good deeds: 2:25, 4:122, 5:9, 22:14, 22:23

Those who believe and do good, we will erase their sins and reward them according to the best of what they did. 29:7

But those who believe and do good will be in Paradise 2:82, 29:9, 31:8, 34:4, 35:7, 47:2, 65:11, 84:25, 95:6

Those who believe, do good deeds, establish prayer, and give charity will have their reward with their Lord. They will have no fear, nor will they grieve. 2:277

The Messenger believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, as do the believers. They all affirm: ‘We believe in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers. They declare, ‘We hear and obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, our Lord, to You is the final return.’ 2:285

O People of the Book, believe in what We have revealed, confirming what you already have, 4:57
Those who believe and do good are not blamed for what they consumed before, so long as they remain mindful, believe, and act righteously. Allah loves those who do good. 5:93

The only response of true believers, when called to Allah and His Messenger to judge between them, is to say, “We hear, and we obey.” These are the ones who will succeed. 24:51

Righteousness is not merely turning your faces toward the east or west. True righteousness is in one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets, and who gives wealth, despite loving it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, travellers, and those who ask for help, and for freeing slaves. It is in those who establish prayer, give charity, fulfil their promises, and remain patient in hardship and adversity. These are the truthful ones, and they are the truly righteous. 2:177

They believe in Allah and the Last Day, enjoin good, forbid evil, and hasten to do righteous deeds. These are among the righteous. 3:114

Those who believe, migrate, and strive in Allah’s cause with their wealth and lives are of the highest rank in His sight. They are the ones who will succeed. 9:20

Allah has promised those among you who believe and do good that He will grant them succession in the land, just as He did for those before them; He will establish for them their faith, the one He has chosen for them, and replace their fear with security. They will worship Me alone, not associating anything with Me. 24:55
O believers! Be mindful of Allah and seek ways to draw near to Him. Strive in His cause, so you may succeed. 5:35

But those who strive for Us, we will surely guide them to Our paths. Allah is with those who do good. 29:69

And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and placed no hardship upon you in the religion, the way of your father Abraham. He named you Muslims before and in this scripture, so the Messenger may be a witness over you, and you may be witnesses over humanity. So establish prayer, give charity, and hold fast to Allah. 22:78

Truly successful are the believers, 23:1

Those who are humble in their prayers, 23:2

Who turn away from idle talk, 23:3

Who gives in charity with purpose, 23:4

Who guard their chastity, 23:5

Except with their spouses or those under their care, for in that they are without blame. 23:6

But whoever seeks beyond that, such are the transgressors. 23:7

Allah commands you to return trusts to their rightful owners and to judge with justice. 4:58

Those who are faithful to their trusts and promises, 23:8

And who are diligent in their prayers 23:9

These are the true inheritors, 23:10

Laws
Entering Houses
Righteousness is not in entering houses from the back, but true righteousness is in being mindful of Allah. So, enter houses through their doors 2:189

O believers, do not enter homes other than your own without first seeking permission and greeting the occupants. That is better for you; perhaps you will remember. 24:27

If you find no one there, do not enter until permission is granted. And if told to go back, then go back; it is purer for you. 24:28

There is no blame upon you for entering uninhabited houses where you have some benefit. 24:29

O you who believe, let your servants and those among you who have not yet reached puberty ask permission before entering at three times: before dawn prayer, when you remove your garments at midday, and after the night prayer. These are private times for you. Outside of these, there is no blame for you, and they move about one another freely. 24:58

And when your children reach maturity, let them ask permission as those before them did. 24:59

House Etiquette
There is no blame on the blind, or the lame, or the sick, or on yourselves, for eating in your own homes, or the homes of your fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, or in homes you hold the keys to, or in the homes of your friends. There is no harm in eating together or separately. But when you enter a home, greet one another with a greeting of peace 24:61

The true believers are those who stay with the Messenger in collective matters and do not leave without asking permission. Those who ask your permission they are the ones who truly believe in Allah and His Messenger. So, when they ask your leave for some personal matter, grant it to whomever you will, and ask Allah to forgive them. 24:62

Parents
We have enjoined upon man kindness to his parents. His mother bore him with hardship and delivered him with hardship. His bearing and weaning take thirty months. When he reaches maturity and reaches forty years, he says: “My Lord, inspire me to be grateful for Your favour upon me and upon my parents, and to do righteousness that pleases You. And make my offspring upright. Truly, I turn to You in repentance, and I am of those who submit.” 46:15

You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day loving those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they are their fathers, sons, brothers, or relatives. Allah has placed faith in their hearts and strengthened them with His spirit. He will admit them into gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they will dwell forever. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. They are the party of Allah; indeed, the party of Allah will triumph. 58:22

O believers! Stand firm in justice, bearing witness for Allah, even against yourselves, parents, or kin. 4:135

Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him and show kindness to your parents. If one or both of them reach old age with you, do not say to them a word of irritation, nor rebuke them, but speak to them with honour. 17:23

And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy, and say, “My Lord, have mercy on them, as they raised me when I was small.” 17:24

Be kind to parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, neighbours, whether near or distant, companions, travellers, and those under your care. 4:36

Children
Do not kill your children out of fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Killing them is a grave sin. 17:31

Orphans
Do not approach the wealth of an orphan except in the best manner until he reaches maturity. Fulfil your promises, for you will be questioned about them. 17:34

This world and the Hereafter are intertwined. They ask you about orphans, say, 'Improving their condition is best. If you integrate them into your lives, they are your brothers. 2:220

Relative, Poor, Traveller
They ask you what they should spend. Say, ‘Whatever you give should be for parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, and travellers. 2:215

True righteousness is in one who gives wealth, despite loving it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, travellers, and those who ask for help, and for freeing slaves. 2:177, 4:36, 8:41, 9:60

They are those who repent, worship, praise, travel for His sake, bow, prostrate, enjoin good, forbid evil, and uphold Allah’s limits. Give good news to the believers. 9:112

Give your relatives their due, as well as the needy and the traveller, but do not squander your wealth wastefully. 17:26

So, give your relatives their due, and the needy, and the traveller. That is best for those who seek Allah’s pleasure; these are the successful. 30:38

Whatever gains Allah turned over to His Messenger from the people of the towns belongs to Allah, the Messenger, close relatives, orphans, the needy, and the traveller, so that wealth does not circulate only among the rich among you. 59:7

If you must turn away from those in need due to a lack of resources, then speak to them kindly. 17:28

Do not keep your hand clenched, nor open it completely, lest you end up blameworthy and destitute. 17:29

Intercede
Whoever intercedes for a good cause will have a share in it, and whoever intercedes for an evil cause will bear its burden. Allah oversees all things. 4:85

Greeting
When you are greeted, respond with a better greeting or at least return it equally. Allah keeps account of everything. 4:86

Sex
Tell believing men to lower their gaze and guard their modesty, that is purer for them. 24:30

And those who guard their chastity, 70:29

Except with their spouses or those their right hand possesses, for then they are not blameworthy. 70:30

Marry off the single among you and the righteous among your servants. If they are poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty. 24:32

Those who do not invoke other gods besides Allah, nor take a life unjustly, nor commit adultery. 25:68

Do not approach adultery; it is an outrage and an evil path. 17:32

As for those women among you who commit a grave indecency, call upon four witnesses from among yourselves to testify against them. If they bear witness, then confine those women to their homes until death claims them or Allah opens for them a path forward. 4:15

As for those who commit adultery, punish them unless they repent and reform. If they do, leave them be. 4:16

Repentance is accepted by Allah from those who sin out of ignorance and then quickly turn back. Allah forgives them. 4:118
Killing
Do not take a life that Allah has made sacred, except in justice. If one is killed unjustly, We have given authority to his heir, but let him not exceed limits in retaliation; he is supported by the law. 17:33

Measures
Give full measure and weight in fairness. Do not defraud people of their rights. That is best and leads to the best outcome. 6:152, 11:85, 17:35, 26:181

Knowledge
Do not follow what you have no knowledge of. Surely, hearing, sight, and heart, each will be questioned. 17:36

And so those gifted with knowledge may know it is the truth from your Lord, and thus believe in it humbly. 22:54

Proud
Do not walk arrogantly upon the earth. You cannot pierce the earth, nor reach the mountains in height. 17:37

All these actions are detestable to your Lord. 17:38

Sacrifice
For every nation We appointed rites, so they may mention Allah’s name over the livestock He provided. 22:34

Whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned, who endure hardship patiently, establish prayer, and give from what We provided. 22:35

And the sacrificial animals, We made them among Allah’s symbols for you. In them is good. So, mention Allah’s name over them as they are lined up, then when they fall on their sides, eat from them and feed the content and the needy. Thus, We made them subject to you, so you may be grateful. 22:36

Complete the pilgrimage and minor pilgrimage for Allah. But if you are prevented, then offer a sacrifice as you can. 2:196

Neither their flesh nor their blood reaches Allah, but your piety does. Thus, He subjected them to you so you may glorify Allah for what He has guided you to. 22:37

O believers! Do not violate sacred rites, the sacred months, the offerings, or those journeying to the Sacred House seeking their Lord’s favour. 5:2

O believers! Intoxicants, gambling, idolatrous offerings, and divining arrows are vile works of Satan, so avoid them, that you may succeed. 5:90

So, pray to your Lord and sacrifice. 108:2

Say, “My prayer, my worship, my life, and my death are for Allah, the Lord of all worlds.” 6:162

Allah defends those who believe. 22:38

Mosques
Who is more unjust than one who prevents Allah’s name from being mentioned in His places of worship and seeks to ruin them? Such people should not enter them except in fear. 2:114

It is not for the polytheists to maintain Allah’s places of worship while openly disbelieving. Their deeds are worthless. 9:17

The only ones who maintain Allah’s places of worship are those who believe in Him and the Last Day, establish prayer, give charity, and fear none but Allah. It is they who are expected to be rightly guided. 9:18

Never stand in it! A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy of your prayers. Within it are men who love to be purified, and Allah loves those who purify themselves. 9:108

But do not be intimate with your spouses while secluded in the mosques. 2:187

There are those who built a mosque to spread harm, disbelief, and division among the believers, 9:107

Masjid al-Haram
O believers! The polytheists are impure, so do not let them approach the Sacred Mosque after this year. If you fear poverty, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills. 9:28

Wherever you go, turn toward the Sacred Mosque 2:150

We have seen you, O Prophet, turning your face toward the heavens in anticipation. Now, We will direct you toward a prayer direction that pleases you. So turn your face toward the Sacred Mosque, and wherever you are, turn your faces toward it. 2:144

Do you consider providing water to pilgrims and maintaining the Sacred Mosque equal to believing in Allah and striving in His cause? They are not equal in Allah’s sight. 9:19

O believers! Do not violate sacred rites, the sacred months, the offerings, or those journeying to the Sacred House seeking their Lord’s favour. Once you leave the pilgrimage state, you may hunt. But do not let hatred toward those who barred you from the Sacred Mosque lead you to injustice. 5:2

Kaba
Allah has made the Kaaba, the Sacred House, a sanctuary for people, along with the sacred months, offerings, and garlanded animals. This is so you may know that Allah knows all in the heavens and the earth. 5:97

Various
Allah commands justice, kindness, and generosity to relatives, and He forbids immorality, wrongdoing, and oppression. He instructs you so that you may take heed. 16:90

Legal Retribution
O believers, legal retribution is prescribed for you in cases of murder, the free for the free, the slave for the slave, and the female for the female. But if the victim’s family pardons the killer, then a fair settlement must be made. This is an alleviation and mercy from your Lord. Yet whoever transgresses after that will face a painful punishment. 2:178

And in retribution, there is life for you, O people of understanding, so that you may become mindful. 2:179

The penalty for an evil act is its equivalent, but whoever forgives and seeks reconciliation will find their reward with Allah. 42:40

Those who defend themselves when wronged, there is no blame upon them. 42:41

Yet whoever is patient and forgives, this is true strength. 42:43

Then We took vengeance on those who sinned. It is Our duty to help the believers. 30:47

Bequests
It is prescribed that when death approaches any of you, if they leave behind wealth, they should make a fair will for parents and close relatives. This is a duty upon the righteous. 2:180

But whoever alters the will after hearing it, then the sin is upon those who alter it. 2:181

Yet if someone fears that the testator has acted unjustly or wrongly and reconciles between the heirs, there is no sin upon them. 2:182

Testimony
O believers! When death approaches one of you, let two just witnesses be present at the time of bequest. If traveling, and death comes, then take testimony from others. If you doubt them, detain them after prayer and let them swear by Allah, “We will not trade our testimony for any price, nor conceal the truth, or else we would be sinful.” 5:106

If it is discovered that they lied, let two others take their place and swear by Allah, “Our testimony is truer, and we have not transgressed, or else we would be sinful.” 5:107

This ensures testimony is given properly, or else they fear their oaths may be challenged. 5:108

All are obedient to Him. 30:26

Practices
Enter Islam
O believers, enter into submission completely, 2:208

Those who convey Allah’s messages 33:39

Sacred Ordinances
That is the command. Whoever honours Allah’s sacred ordinances, it is best for them with their Lord. Livestock are made lawful to you, except what is recited to you. So avoid the filth of idols and false speech. 22:30

Be upright for Allah, not associating anything with Him. Whoever associates others with Allah, it is as if he fell from the sky and was snatched by birds or swept away by the wind to a distant place. 22:31

That is so. Whoever honours the symbols of Allah, it is from the piety of hearts. 22:32

Compulsion
There is no compulsion in religion. Truth stands clear from falsehood. Whoever rejects false gods and believes in Allah has grasped the firmest handhold, which will never break. 2:256

Do they seek a religion other than Allah’s, when all in the heavens and the earth submit to Him, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him they will return? 3:83

To Allah submits all in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, as do their shadows, morning and evening. 13:15

Do not compel your servant girls into prostitution if they wish to remain chaste, seeking worldly gain. If they are forced, then Allah is forgiving and merciful toward them. 24:33

Marriage
If you fear that you cannot treat orphans fairly, then marry women of your choice, two, three, or four. But if you fear injustice, then marry only one of those already under your care. This will help you avoid wrongdoing. 4:3

First Muslims
First Muslims
The first to lead the way, among the emigrants and the supporters, along with those who followed them in righteousness, Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. 9:100

And to the three who were left behind, until the earth felt narrow despite its vastness, and their souls felt constrained, realizing there was no refuge from Allah except in Him. Then He turned to them in mercy so they might repent. 9:118

Abraham
And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and placed no hardship upon you in the religion, the way of your father Abraham. He named you Muslims before, and in this scripture 22:78

Lot
So, We evacuated all the believers who were in it, 51:35

And found in it only one house of those who submitted. 51:36

Muhammad
Say, “I have been commanded to be the first to submit, and never to be among those who associate others with Him.” 6:14

“He has no partner. This is what I have been commanded, and I am the first to submit.” 6:164

Noah
I (Noah) have been commanded to submit to Him.” 10:72

And you see people entering His religion in crowds, 110:2

Unbelievers
Unbelievers
O believers! Remember Allah’s favour upon you when a people sought to harm you, but He held them back. So be mindful of Allah, and let the faithful place their trust in Him. 5:11

O you who believe, if a troublemaker brings you news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance and later regret what you’ve done. 49:6

Thus, We test some through others, so they may say, “Are these the ones whom Allah has favoured among us?” Does Allah not know best who is grateful? 6:53

Say: “You will not be asked about our crimes, nor will we be asked about what you do.” 34:25

Say: “Our Lord will gather us together, then judge between us in truth. 34:26

Various
As for the believers, Jews, Sabeans, Christians, Magians, and polytheists, Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. 22:17

Jews and Christians
O believers! Do not take allies from among those who mock your way, whether from the People of the Book or the disbelievers. 5:51

You will find the fiercest in hostility toward believers to be the Jews and polytheists, while the closest in affection are those who say, “We are Christians.” This is because among them are priests and monks who are humble. 5:82

Do not argue with the People of the Book except in the best manner, unless they are unjust. Say, “We believe in what was revealed to us and to you, our Allah and your Allah is one, and to Him we submit.” 29:46

Saved
You who believe, shall I guide you to a trade that will save you from a painful punishment? 61:10

Rewarded
Except for those who repent, mend their ways, hold fast to Allah, and sincerely devote their faith to Him, such will be counted among the believers, and Allah will grant them a great reward. 4:146

Ultimate Triumph
If not for the grace of my Lord, I would have been among those dragged down.” 37:57

“Are we really never going to die, 37:58
Except for our first death, and never be punished?” 37:59

Truly, this is the ultimate triumph. 37:60

For this, let all who strive, strive. 37:61

Protected
We fear from our Lord a Day of grim and bitter anguish.” 76:10

So, Allah will shield them from the harm of that Day, and grant them radiance and joy. 76:11

And in whose wealth is a known share 70:24

For the beggar and the deprived, 70:25

And those who affirm the Day of Judgment, 70:26

Spared
But the most devout will be spared, 92:17
