Muhammad
Muhammad's Self-Serving Revelations
Put Muhammad First
Say, “I have been commanded to be the first to submit, 6:14, 6:163, 39:12

O you who believe, do not place yourselves ahead of Allah and His Messenger. 49:1

Listen to Muhammad
O believers, do not say 'Ra'ina' (observe us), instead, say 'Unzurna' (regard us) and listen attentively. 2:104

Don’t Talk Over Muhammad
O you who believe, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak to him aloud as you do to one another, lest your deeds be nullified while you are unaware. 49:2

Those who lower their voices in the presence of Allah ’s Messenger, it is they whose hearts Allah has refined for mindfulness. For them is forgiveness and a great reward. 49:3

Indeed, those who call out to you from behind the chambers, most of them lack understanding. 49:4

If they had waited patiently until you came out to them, it would have been better for them. 49:5

Muhammad is better than others
The Prophet is closer to the believers than they are to themselves, and his wives are their mothers. Blood relatives have greater rights over one another in Allah ’s decree than the bonds of faith and migration, though you may still act kindly toward your allies. This is inscribed in the divine record. 33:6

Indeed, for you is a reward that will never be cut off. 68:3

And truly, you are of magnificent character. 68:4

Soon you will see, and they will see. 68:5

Bless Muhammad
Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O believers, send blessings and peace upon him. 33:56

So that you may believe in Allah and His Messenger, support Him, honour Him, and glorify Him morning and evening. 48:9

Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you are actually pledging allegiance to Allah. Allah’s hand is above their hands. So, whoever breaks his word does so to his own loss, and whoever fulfils his covenant with Allah, He will grant him a great reward. 48:10

Justifying the Satanic Verses
Never did We send a messenger or prophet before you without Satan casting something into his message. But Allah nullifies what Satan interjects, then affirms His revelations. 22:52

He allows this so He may test those with sickness in their hearts and those hardened in disbelief. Truly, the wrongdoers are steeped in opposition. 22:53

Saving Aisha
Those who spread the slander are a group among you. Do not think it bad for you, it is good. Each of them will bear their share of the sin, and the one who took the lead will face a severe punishment. 24:11

Why, when you heard it, did believing men and women not think well of one another and say, “This is clearly a lie”? 24:12

Why did they not bring four witnesses? If they fail to do so, then in Allah’s sight, they are liars. 24:13

Had it not been for Allah’s favour and mercy in this world and the next, you would have been severely punished for what you rushed into. 24:14

You repeated it with your tongues and said with your mouths what you had no knowledge of, thinking it trivial, though in Allah’s sight, it is grave. 24:15

Why didn’t you say, when you heard it, “We should not speak of this. Glory be to You, O Lord, this is a terrible slander”? 24:16

Allah warns you never to repeat such behaviour, if you are true believers. 24:17

Muhammad taking his son's wife
And when you said to the one whom Allah had blessed and whom you had favoured, “Keep your wife and be mindful of Allah,” while concealing within yourself what Allah was to reveal, fearing people, though Allah is more deserving of your fear. When Zayd had ended his marriage, We married her to you so that believers would have no hesitation regarding marriage to the former wives of their adopted sons. Allah’s command is always fulfilled. 33:37

Allah has not placed two hearts within any person, nor has He made your wives, whom you equate with your mothers, truly your mothers. Likewise, He has not made your adopted sons your actual sons. These are mere words from your mouths, but Allah speaks the truth and guides to the right path. 33:4

Call them by their fathers’ names, that is more just in the sight of Allah. But if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brothers in faith and your companions. There is no blame upon you for unintentional mistakes, but what your hearts deliberately intend. 33:5

Muhammad's Wives and Sex Slaves
O Prophet, We have made lawful for you your wives to whom you have given dowries, those whom your right hand possesses from among the captives Allah has granted you, the daughters of your paternal and maternal uncles and aunts who migrated with you, and any believing woman who offers herself to you, if you wish to marry her. This is exclusive to you, not for other believers. We know what We have prescribed for them regarding their wives and those their right hands possess, so that there is no hardship upon you. Allah is ever-forgiving, most merciful. 33:50

You may defer intimacy with whomever you wish and draw near whomever you wish. There is no blame upon you if you choose to bring someone closer after keeping them apart. This ensures their contentment and prevents sorrow. Allah knows what is in your hearts. 33:51

Beyond these, no other women are lawful for you, nor may you exchange them for others, even if their beauty pleases you, except those your right hand possesses. 33:52

Muhammad Caught having Sex with one wife in another’s bed
O Prophet, why do you forbid yourself what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking to please your wives? 66:1

Allah has already ordained a way for you to dissolve such oaths. He is your Protector. 66:2

When the Prophet confided something to one of his wives, and she disclosed it, Allah made it known to him. He revealed part of it and withheld part. When he confronted her, she asked, “Who told you this?” He replied, “The All-Knowing, the All-Aware informed me.” 66:3

If you both turn in repentance to Allah, your hearts have inclined. But if you conspire against him, then know that Allah is his ally, as are Gabriel, the righteous believers, and the angels, all his supporters. 66:4

Perhaps, if he divorces you, his Lord will replace you with better wives, devoted, faithful, obedient, repentant, worshipful, fasting, previously married or virgins. 66:5

Keeping Muhammad's wives in Order
O Prophet, say to your wives: “If you desire the life of this world and its adornments, then come, I will grant you provisions and release you with kindness. 33:28

But if you seek Allah and His Messenger and the Hereafter, then know that Allah has prepared a great reward for the righteous among you.” 33:29

O wives of the Prophet, you are not like other women. If you remain mindful of Allah, do not speak in a way that may stir desire in those with diseased hearts, speak honourably. 33:32

Stay in your homes and do not display yourselves as was done in the days of ignorance. Establish prayer, give charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah only intends to purify you, O people of the Prophet’s household, and remove all impurity from you. 33:33

Pledging Marriage to Muhammad
Prophet, when believing women come to you pledging that they will not associate anything with Allah, nor steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill their children, nor bring falsehood they invent between their hands and feet, nor disobey you in what is right, then accept their pledge and ask Allah to forgive them. 60:12

Don’t Look at Muhammad's Wives
When you ask his wives for something, do so from behind a screen; this is purer for your hearts and theirs. 33:53

Don’t Marry Wives
It is not lawful for you to harm the Messenger of Allah, nor to marry his wives after him. This is a grave offense in Allah’s sight. 33:53

Al-Kawthar
Indeed, We have granted you abundance. 108:1

So, pray to your Lord and sacrifice. 108:2

Surely, the one who hates you, he is truly cut off. 108:3

Bakkah
Indeed, the first house of worship established for humanity was in Bakkah, a blessed place and a guidance for all people. 3:96

In it are clear signs, including the station of Abraham. Whoever enters it is safe. Pilgrimage to the House is a duty upon those who can afford the journey. But whoever refuses, Allah is beyond need of all creation. 3:97

Entrance and Exit
Say, “My Lord, grant me an honourable entrance and an honourable exit, and grant me Your supporting authority.” 17:80

And say, “Truth has come, and falsehood has vanished. Falsehood is bound to perish.” 17:81

Captives
It is not for a prophet to take captives until he has fully subdued the land. 8:67

O Prophet! Say to the captives in your hands: “If Allah knows goodness in your hearts, He will grant you better than what was taken from you and forgive you. 8:70

War Booty
It is not for a prophet to betray trust. 3:161

And know that whatever spoils you gain, a fifth belongs to Allah, His Messenger, the needy, the orphans, the poor, and the traveller 8:41

So, consume what you have gained, lawful and good. 8:69

Those who stayed behind will say, when you set out to collect the spoils, “Let us follow you.” They want to change Allah’s words. Say: You will not follow us, Allah has already said so. Then they will say, “You’re just jealous of us.” No, they understand little. 48:15

Allah was pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you under the tree. He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquillity upon them and rewarded them with a near victory, 48:18

And abundant spoils they will soon take. 48:19

Allah has promised you many gains to come, and He has hastened this one for you, and withheld the hands of others from you, so that it may be a sign for the believers and that He may guide you on a straight path. 48:20

And other gains you were not yet able to take, Allah has already encompassed them. 48:21

If those who disbelieved had fought you, they would have turned and fled, finding no protector or helper. 48:22

Such is Allah’s established way from before, and you will never find any change in Allah’s way. 48:23

Obedience to Muhammad
Muhammad Equated with Allah
Obey Allah and His Messenger, and be cautious. 5:92

Whoever obeys the Messenger has truly obeyed Allah. 4:80

Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you are actually pledging allegiance to Allah. Allah’s hand is above their hands. 48:10

Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has truly triumphed with a great victory. 33:71

But if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not diminish your deeds in the least. 49:14

It is not for a believer, man or woman, to have a choice in a matter once Allah and His Messenger have decided it. Whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has clearly gone astray. 33:36

Your true ally is Allah, His Messenger, and those who establish prayer, give charity, and bow in devotion. 5:55

Those who oppose Allah and His Messenger will be among the most humiliated. 58:20

Allah has decreed: “I will surely prevail, along with My messengers.” 58:21

Whoever takes Allah, His Messenger, and the faithful as allies, indeed, it is the party of Allah that will triumph. 5:56

Obey Muhammad
Obey Allah and His Messenger. 3:32, 3:132, 4:59, 5:92, 8:1, 9:71, 24:54, 33:33, 47:33, 49:14, 58:13, 64:12

Obey the Messenger, so that you may receive mercy. 24:56

O believers! Obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not turn away when you hear his call. 8:20

O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger, and do not let your deeds be nullified. 47:33

The only response of true believers, when called to Allah and His Messenger to judge between them, is to say, “We hear and we obey.” These are the ones who will succeed. 24:51

Whoever obeys Him and His Messenger will be admitted into gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they will remain forever. That is the ultimate success. 4:13, 24:52, 33:71, 48:17

Obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute among yourselves, lest you falter and lose courage. Be patient. 8:46

O believers, obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you. If you dispute, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if you truly believe in Allah and the Last Day. This is the best and fairest resolution. 4:59

We did not send any messenger except to be obeyed by Allah’s command. If they had come to you after wronging themselves, seeking Allah’s forgiveness, and if the Messenger had prayed for them, they would have found Allah Most Forgiving, Most Merciful. 4:64

Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will be among those whom Allah has blessed, the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous. What an excellent company! 4:69

That is the bounty from Allah. 4:70

The believers, men and women, are allies to one another. They enjoin good, forbid evil, establish prayer, give charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have mercy on them. 9:71

Whatever good reaches you is from Allah, but whatever harm befalls you is from yourself. We have sent you as a messenger to humanity. 4:79

The true believers are those who stay with the Messenger in collective matters and do not leave without asking permission. Those who ask your permission—they are the ones who truly believe in Allah and His Messenger. So, when they ask your leave for some personal matter, grant it to whomever you will, and ask Allah to forgive them. 24:62

Say: “Obey Allah and obey the Messenger. But if you turn away, he is responsible for what he has been charged with, and you for what you have been charged with. If you obey him, you will be rightly guided. The Messenger’s duty is only to deliver the message clearly.” 24:54

But whoever remains devoted to Allah and His Messenger and does good, We will grant her a double reward and a noble provision. 33:31

Are you reluctant to offer charity before your private counsel? If you do not, and Allah forgives you, then establish prayer, give charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. 58:13

And know that the Messenger of Allah is among you. If he were to follow your wishes in many matters, you would surely falter. But Allah has made faith beloved to you, and adorned it in your hearts, and made disbelief, defiance, and disobedience detestable to you. These are the rightly guided. 49:7

A grace and favour from Allah. 49:8

Don’t Disobey Muhammad
Whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has clearly gone astray. 33:36

But whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has been made clear and follows a path other than that of the believers, We will leave them to their chosen path and cast them into Hell, what a miserable destination! 4:115

Do not treat the Messenger’s summons as you would call one another. Allah knows those who slip away quietly. Let those who go against his command beware, a trial may strike them, or a painful punishment. 24:63

O humanity! The Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, believe, and it will be for your own good. But if you reject faith, know that all that is in the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah. 4:170

Believe Muhammad
What holds you back from believing in Allah when the Messenger calls you to faith, and He has already taken your pledge? 57:8

It is He who sends down clear signs, to bring you from darkness into light, and truly. 57:9

O believers, be mindful of Allah and believe in His Messenger. He will grant you a double portion of His mercy, a light to guide you, and forgiveness. 57:28

As one who calls to Allah by His permission, and as a guiding light. 33:46

And say: “My Lord, forgive and have mercy. 23:118

Believe in Allah and His messenger(s) 3:179, 4:136, 4:150, 4:152, 7:158, 24:62, 48:9, 57:7, 61:11, 64:8

Then We set you upon a clear path of faith, so follow it, and do not follow the whims of those who know not. 45:18

"Say, 'This is my path, I call to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me. 12:108

So, call them to this, and remain steadfast as you have been commanded. Do not follow their desires, but say: I believe in whatever Book Allah has sent down, and I am commanded to judge fairly between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. We have our deeds, and you have yours. Let there be no dispute between us, Allah will gather us together, and to Him is the final return. 42:15

O believers! Hold fast to faith in Allah, His Messenger, and the Book He sent down before. 4:136

Say, “O humanity, I am Allah’s messenger to you all. So, believe in Allah and His messenger, the unlettered Prophet, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him so that you may be guided.” 7:158

Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord. 6:106

True believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger, then never doubt, and strive with their wealth and lives in Allah’s cause. They are the sincere. 49:15

Perhaps you will grieve yourself to ruin because they do not believe. 26:3

Love Muhammad
Say, “If your parents, children, siblings, spouses, relatives, wealth you have earned, trade you fear losing, and homes you cherish are dearer to you than Allah, His Messenger, and striving in His cause, then wait until Allah brings His command. 9:24

Do not Betray Muhammad
O believers! Do not betray Allah and His Messenger, nor betray your trusts knowingly. 8:27

Don’t Deny Muhammad
If they reject you, say, “My deeds are mine, and your deeds are yours. You are free of what I do, and I am free of what you do.” 10:41

If they deny you, know that messengers before you were also denied, even though they came with clear signs, scriptures, and enlightening guidance. 3:184

If they deny you, so did the people of Noah, ‘Aad, and Thamud before them, 22:42

And the people of Abraham and Lot, 22:43

Don’t Contend with Muhammad
For every community, We appointed rites they are to observe. So let them not dispute with you about this. Call them to your Lord, for you are truly on a straight path. 22:67

“Set your face toward the true religion 10:105

Don't Ridicule Muhammad
When they see you, they only mock: “Is this the one Allah sent as a messenger? 25:41

When the disbelievers see you, they mock, saying, “Is this the one who speaks against our gods?” Yet they reject the mention of the Most Merciful. 21:36

When you call to prayer, they ridicule it as mere amusement. This is because they lack understanding. 5:58

Messengers before you were ridiculed, but I granted respite to the disbelievers, then seized them. How severe was My punishment! 13:32, 21:41

But no messenger came to them without being mocked. 15:11

Their recompense is Hell, for they denied and mocked My signs and messengers. 18:106

Enemies
Thus, We have made enemies for every prophet among the wicked. 25:31

Whenever they bring an argument, We bring the truth and the best explanation. 25:33

Muhammad's Function - Constructive
Muhammad's Mission
O Prophet, remain mindful of Allah and do not yield to the deniers or the hypocrites. 33:1

Follow what is revealed to you from your Lord, for He is fully aware of all that you do. 33:2

Power over Others
Whatever gains Allah turned over to His Messenger from them, you did not spur horses or camels for it. But Allah gives authority to His messengers over whomever He wills. 59:6

Abraham
Then We revealed to you: “Follow the way of Abraham, who was upright and never among the idolaters.” 16:123

The Sabbath was imposed only upon those who differed about it. Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding their disputes. 16:124

Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good counsel, and debate with them in the best manner. 16:125

Unlettered
Among them are unlettered people who know nothing of the Scripture except wishful thinking, and they rely on mere assumptions. 2:78

He is the One who raised among the unlettered a messenger from their own, reciting His signs to them, purifying them, and teaching them the Book and wisdom, though before this, they were clearly astray. 62:2

And He has sent him also to others who have not yet joined them. 62:3

Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their scriptures, it is they who will succeed. 7:157

So, believe in Allah and His messenger, the unlettered Prophet, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him so that you may be guided.” 7:158

Messenger
Say: I am not the first of the messengers, 46:9

Nothing is said to you except what was said to the messengers before you. 41:43

Yet I granted enjoyment to these and their forefathers until the truth and a clear messenger came to them. 43:29

We never sent messengers before you except that they ate food and walked in the marketplaces. And We made some of you a test for others, will you be patient? 25:20

If they reject you, messengers before you were also rejected. 35:4

We have sent to you a messenger as a witness over you, just as We sent a messenger to Pharaoh. 73:15

Indeed, We have sent you with the truth. 2:119

This is truly the word of a noble messenger. 69:40, 81:19

You are truly among the messengers, 36:3

Guide
Every nation has its guide. 13:7

On a straight path, 36:4

You surely guide to a straight path, 42:52

To warn a people whose ancestors were not warned, so they are unaware. 36:6

He is the One who sent His Messenger with guidance and the true religion to make it prevail over all others, even if the polytheists resent it. 9:33, 48:28

Witness
O Prophet, We have sent you as a witness 33:45, 48:8

We will teach you, so you will not forget, 87:6

Except what Allah wills, He knows what is revealed and what is hidden. 87:7

We will ease your way to ease. 87:8

As a lesson and reminder for every servant who turns to Allah. 50:8

But remind, for reminding benefits the believers. 51:55

So, remind, if the reminder benefits. 87:9

So, remind, for you are only a reminder. 88:21

You have no control over them. 88:22

The reverent will take heed, 87:10

While the most wretched will turn away, 87:11

Say, "I have been commanded to worship Allah, devoting my faith entirely to Him." 39:11

Warner
O People of the Book! Our Messenger has come to you after a long gap in messengers, lest you say, “No one came to us as a bearer of good news or warning.” Now, a bearer of good news and a warner has come to you. 5:19

Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion to His servant, so that he may be a warner to the world. 25:1

Had We willed, We could have sent a warner to every city. 25:51

And warn your closest relatives. 26:214

And lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 26:215

It has only been revealed to me that I am a clear warner. 7:188, 38:70

Indeed, We have sent you as a warner. 2:119, 7:184, 15:89, 25:56, 33:45, 48:8

Say: “O people, I am only a clear warner to you.” 11:2, 22:49, 29:50, 38:65, 46:9, 51:51, 67:26

You are only a warner 11:12, 13:7, 35:23, 79:45

So, flee to Allah. I am a clear warner to you from Him. 51:50, 51:51

This is a warning like the earlier warnings. 53:56

He is only a warner to you before a severe punishment. 34:46

We sent down the Quran with truth, and with truth it descended. We sent you only as a bearer of good news and a warner. 17:105, 34:28, 35:24

You can only warn the one who follows the Reminder and fears the Merciful unseen. So, give him good news of forgiveness and a generous reward. 36:11

You can only warn those who fear their Lord unseen and establish prayer. Whoever purifies themselves does so for their own good. 35:18

Mercy
You were not present on the western side when We decreed Our command to Moses, nor were you among the witnesses. 28:44

But We raised generations after him, and their lives grew long. You were not present among the people of Midian, reciting Our revelations to them, but We sent messengers. 28:45

Nor were you on the side of the mountain when We called Moses, but it is a mercy from your Lord, so you may warn a people who had no warner before you, so they may take heed. 28:46

Otherwise, they might say, “If only a messenger had come to us, we would have followed the signs of Allah and not been among the condemned.” 28:47

But when the truth came to them from Us, they said, “Why was he not given what Moses was given?” Did they not reject what Moses was given before? They said, “Two kinds of magic supporting each other.” And they said, “We reject both.” 28:48

And We have sent you not but as a tender mercy, flowing outward to all realms of being. 21:107

A messenger has come to you from among yourselves, grieved by your suffering, concerned for you, and deeply compassionate and merciful toward the believers. 9:128

Seal of the Prophets
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets. 33:40

Bringer of good tidings
O People of the Book! Our Messenger has come to you after a long gap in messengers, lest you say, “No one came to us as a bearer of good news or warning.” Now, a bearer of good news and a warner has come to you. 5:19

Indeed, We have sent you with the truth as a bearer of good news and a warner. 2:119, 7:188, 11:2, 25:56, 33:45, 48:8

We have sent you only as a bearer of good news and a warner to all humanity, but most people do not know. 34:28

Perfect Example
Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah, you have a perfect example for those who hope in Allah and the Last Day and remember Him often. 33:21

When the believers saw the enemy forces, they said, “This is what Allah and His Messenger promised us, and Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth.” It only increased them in faith and submission. 33:22

“Our Lord, do not make us a trial for those who disbelieve, and forgive us. 60:5

Indeed, you have a beautiful example in them, for those who hope in Allah and the Last Day. But whoever turns away, Allah is free of need 60:6

A Great Favour
Allah has granted His favour to the believers when He sent them a messenger from among themselves, reciting His verses, purifying them, and teaching them the Book and wisdom, though they were previously in clear error. 3:164

Just as We sent among you a messenger from your own people, reciting Our revelations, purifying you, teaching you the Book and wisdom, and instructing you in what you did not know. 2:151

Clean
You wrapped in your cloak, 74:1

Rise and deliver the warning, 74:2

Magnify your Lord, 74:3

Purify your garments, 74:4

And shun all defilement. 74:5

Do not give in order to receive more in return, 74:6

But remain steadfast for the sake of your Lord. 74:7

Muhammad's Function - Responses
Only a Man
Say, “I am only a human messenger. Whoever hopes to meet his Lord should do righteous deeds and not associate anyone in worship with Him.” 18:110

Say, “I am but a human like you, inspired that your Allah is One. So, stand firm before Him and seek His forgiveness.” 41:6

No Benefit or Harm
Say, “I have no power to benefit or harm myself, except as Allah wills. If I had knowledge of the unseen, I would have secured abundant good and avoided harm. I am only a warner and a bearer of glad tidings for those who believe.” 7:188

Say, “I have no power to harm or benefit myself except as Allah wills. Every nation has its appointed time. When their time comes, they cannot delay it nor hasten it.” 10:49

The places of worship belong to Allah, so do not call upon anyone besides Him. 72:18

When Allah’s servant stood up to call upon Him, they nearly swarmed him in crowds. 72:19

Say: “I have no power to harm or benefit you.” 72:21

Say: “No one can protect me from Allah, and I will find no refuge besides Him. 72:22

Say: “I do not know whether what you are promised is near or far. 72:25

He alone knows the unseen, and He reveals none of it to anyone. 72:26

Except to a messenger, He chooses. 72:27

Not Rude
It is by Allah’s mercy that you were gentle with them. Had you been harsh and hard-hearted, they would have abandoned you. So, pardon them, seek forgiveness for them, and consult them in matters. Once you decide, put your trust in Allah. 3:159

No Responsibility
You are not responsible for guiding people 2:272

But if you turn away, know that the Messenger’s duty is only to deliver the message clearly. 5:92, 5:99, 16:82, 24:54, 65:12

We know that your heart is distressed by what they say. 15:97

You will not be held accountable for those who choose the path of the Fire. 2:119

O believers! You are responsible for your own souls. 5:105

Not Mad
The disbelievers almost trip you up with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, “He is surely mad!” 68:51

Yet it is nothing but a reminder to all the worlds. 68:52

Or do they say, “He is possessed”? Rather, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 23:70

If the truth followed their desires, the heavens and the earth and all within them would fall into ruin. 23:71

But how can they take heed now, when a clear messenger had already come to them? 44:13

Then they turned away from him and said, “Taught by others, possessed!” 44:14

Likewise, no messenger came to those before them but they said, “A sorcerer or a madman.” 51:52

They say, “O you to whom the Reminder has been sent, you are surely insane.” 15:6

“Has he fabricated a lie about Allah, or is he possessed?” No! 34:8

Have they not reflected? Their companion is not possessed. 7:184, 34:46, 81:22

So, remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor mad. 52:29, 68:2

Not at Fault
Did they pass down this saying to one another? No, they are a people transgressing all bounds. 51:53

So, turn away from them, you are not to be blamed. 51:54

Your companion has not strayed, nor has he erred. 53:2

He does not speak from whim. 53:3

It is nothing but a revelation sent down. 53:4

Taught to him by one of immense power, 53:5

Firm in might, he rose to his true form, 53:6

While he was on the highest horizon. 53:7

Then he drew near and came closer still, 53:8

Until he was two bow-lengths away, or even nearer. 53:9

Then He revealed to His servant what He revealed. 53:10

The heart did not deny what it saw. 53:11

Will you then dispute with him over what he saw? 53:12

Indeed, he saw him on another descent, 53:13

The sight did not waver, nor did it overreach. 53:17

So, remain steadfast as you have been commanded, along with those who turn to Allah with you. Do not transgress. 11:112

Not a Guardian
We have not made you their guardian, nor are you responsible for them. 4:80, 6:107, 42:48

But We have not made you their guardian, nor are you responsible for them. 6:107, 17:54, 42:6

Say, “O humanity, the truth has come to you from your Lord. Whoever chooses guidance does so for their own benefit, and whoever goes astray does so at their own loss. I am not a guardian over you.” 10:108

Yet your people reject it, though it is the truth. Say: I am not your keeper. 6:66

I am not your keeper. 6:104, 39:41

I am not a guardian over you. 11:86

Not Knowing
Nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow what is revealed to me. 46:9

And he does not withhold knowledge of the unseen. 81:24

Not an Advocate
Allah has heard the plea of the woman who argued with you about her husband and appealed to Him. He hears your conversation 58:1

Do not be an advocate for the deceitful. 4:105

Do not argue on behalf of those who betray themselves. 4:107

Here you are, defending them in this life, but who will defend them against Allah on the Day of Judgment? Who will stand as their advocate? 4:109

Not an Angel
Say, “I do not claim to possess Allah’s treasures, nor do I know the unseen, nor do I say I am an angel. I only follow what is revealed to me.” Say, “Can the blind and the seeing be equal? Will you not reflect?” 6:50

Not a Poet
Yet they say, “These are confused dreams! No, he has fabricated them! No, he is a poet! 21:5

And said, “Shall we abandon our gods for a mad poet?” 37:36

Or do they say, “He is a poet, we await some misfortune to befall him”? 52:30

We did not teach him poetry, nor does it suit him. 36:69

It is not the speech of a poet, how little you believe. 69:41

Not a Soothsayer
So, remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer 52:29

Nor is it the word of a soothsayer, how little you reflect. 69:42

Not your Father
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men 33:40

Not Judge
You have no say in the matter, whether He forgives them or punishes them, for they are truly wrongdoers. 3:128

Sign of a False Prophet
It is a revelation from the Lord of all worlds. 69:43

Had he falsely attributed any words to Us, 69:44

We would have seized him by the right hand, 69:45

Then severed his aorta, 69:46

And none of you could have shielded him. 69:47

Not Polytheist
Say, "Never to be among those who associate others with Him.” 6:14

No Payment
Say, "I ask no reward from you, nor do I claim to be something I am not." 38:86

Or are you asking them for payment? The reward of your Lord is better. 23:72

You are surely calling them to a straight path. 23:73

Say, “I ask no reward for this; it is only a reminder for all people.” 6:90, 26:109

Say: I ask no reward from you for this, except love among kin. 42:23

Or do you ask them for a payment, so they are burdened by debt? 52:40, 68:46

If you turn away, I have not asked you for any reward; my reward is only from Allah. I have been commanded to submit to Him.” 10:72, 11:29

"And you ask no reward from them for this message" 12:104

Say: “I ask no payment from you, only that whoever wills may take a path to his Lord.” 25:57

Not Detested
Your Lord has not abandoned you, nor has He despised you. 93:3

Muhammad's Sins
Ask for Forgiveness
So be patient, Allah’s promise is true. Seek forgiveness for your sins and glorify your Lord morning and evening. 40:55

And seek forgiveness for your sins, and for the believing men and women. Allah knows your movements and your resting places. 47:19

Muhammad Forgiven His Sins
Indeed, We have granted you a clear and manifest triumph. 48:1

So that Allah may forgive you your past and future sins, complete His favour upon you, and guide you along a straight path 48:2

And so that Allah may support you with a mighty help. 48:3

Allah turned in mercy to the Prophet, the emigrants, and the supporters who followed him in hardship, after some hearts nearly wavered. He turned to them in mercy 9:117

Do not incline toward those who do wrong, 11:113

And lift the burden from you, 94:2

Muhammad and Miraculous Signs
An Angel
And they say, “What kind of messenger is this, who eats food and walks in the marketplaces? If only an angel had been sent down with him to warn alongside him, 25:7

Night Journey
Glory be to the One who carried His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque, whose surroundings We have blessed, so that We might show him some of Our signs. 17:1

Splitting the Moon
The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split. 54:1

Prophesy
Allah has truly fulfilled the vision shown to His Messenger in truth: “You will surely enter the Sacred Mosque, if Allah wills, in safety, your heads shaved or hair shortened, without fear.” He knew what you did not, and He granted you a victory near at hand. 48:27

Nature
"How many signs exist in the heavens and the earth that they pass by, heedless?" 12:105

Say, “Observe what is in the heavens and the earth.” But signs and warnings do not benefit those who refuse to believe. 10:101

We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves, until it becomes clear that this is the truth. 41:53

Indeed, they doubt the meeting with their Lord. Yet He encompasses all things. 41:54

Request for Sign
Yet they say, “These are confused dreams! No, he has fabricated them! No, he is a poet! Let him bring us a sign like those sent before.” 21:5

Had We destroyed them before this, they would have said, “Our Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, we would have followed Your signs before being humiliated and disgraced.” 20:134

They say, “Why were no miracles sent down to him from his Lord?” Say, “Miracles are only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner.” 29:50

They demand punishment before mercy, though many before them were destroyed. Yet your Lord is forgiving toward people despite their wrongdoing, but He is also severe in retribution. 13:6

The disbelievers ask, “Why has no sign been sent down to him?” But you are only a warner, and every nation has its guide. 13:7

They say, “Why does he not bring us a sign from his Lord?” Have they not received clear proof in earlier scriptures? 20:133

Specific Requests
They say, “We will not believe unless you make a spring gush forth from the earth for us,” 17:90

“Or you have a garden of date palms and grapes, with rivers flowing through it,” 17:91

“Or you make the sky fall upon us in pieces, as you claim, or bring Allah and the angels before us,” 17:92

“Or you have a house of gold, or ascend into the sky, but we will not believe in your ascension unless you bring down a book for us to read.” Say, “Glory be to my Lord! Am I anything but a human messenger?” 17:93

No Signs
They say, “Why has no sign been sent down to him from his Lord?” Say, “Allah is fully capable of sending signs, but most of them do not understand.” 6:37

They swear by Allah with their strongest oaths that if a sign were sent to them, they would surely believe. Say: Signs are with Allah alone, but even if they came, they would not believe. 6:109

Yet whenever a sign from their Lord reaches them, they turn away in denial. 6:4

The disbelievers say, “Why has no sign been sent down to him?” Say, “Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides those who turn to Him.” 13:27
Invented
Or do they say: He has fabricated lies about Allah? If Allah so willed, He could seal your heart. But Allah erases falsehood and establishes truth by His words. 42:24

Or do they say, “He made it up”? Say, “If I have fabricated it, then my sin is upon me, but I am free of your wrongdoing.” 11:35

Signs Disputed
You gain benefits from them and use them to fulfil your needs, and you are carried upon them and upon ships. 40:80

He shows you His signs, so which of Allah’s signs will you deny? 40:81

Let those who dispute Our signs know that they have no escape. 42:35

Have you not seen those who dispute Allah’s signs, how they turn away? 40:69

When a sign comes to them, they say, “We will not believe until we receive what Allah’s messengers have received.” Allah knows best where to place His message. The guilty will suffer humiliation before Allah and severe punishment for their scheming. 6:124

We brought you the truth, but most of you detested it. 43:78

Or have they devised a plan? We too are planning. 43:79

None dispute Allah’s signs except those who reject the truth. Do not be deceived by their movements in the land. 40:4

But those who reject Our signs, we will gradually lead them to ruin in ways they do not perceive. 7:182

I give them time, but My plan is firm. 7:183

When you do not bring them a sign, they say, “Why haven’t you made one up?” Say, “I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. 7:203

But those who disbelieved and denied Our signs, they will suffer a humiliating punishment. 22:57

And on the Day, We gather from every nation a group of those who denied Our signs, they will be driven in ranks. 27:83, 41:19

Those who reject faith and deny Allah’s signs will be cast into the Fire, where they will remain, an awful fate. 5:10, 5:86, 22:57

Pointless Signs
If We willed, We could send down a sign from the heavens that would make their necks bow in humility. 26:4

But whenever a fresh reminder comes to them from the Most Merciful, they turn away. 26:5

They have denied the truth, but soon they will face the consequences of their mockery. 26:6

Have they not seen the earth, how many beautiful pairs We have produced within it? 26:7

Surely in this is a sign, but most of them do not believe. 26:8

Waiting
They say, “Why has no sign been sent down to him from his Lord?” Say, “The unseen belongs to Allah alone, so wait, for I too am waiting.” 10:20

Do they expect anything but the fate of those before them? Say, “Then wait, I too am waiting.” 10:102

Are they waiting for the angels to come, or for your Lord Himself, or for some of His signs? On the Day some of His signs appear, faith will not benefit those who did not believe before or who did not earn good through their faith. Say, “Wait, we too are waiting.” 6:158

Say, “Everyone is waiting, so wait. You will soon know who follows the straight path and who is rightly guided.” 20:135
“Wait, for we too are waiting.” 11:122

Say, “Wait then, I too am waiting with you.” 52:31

Resurrection
They swear by Allah with their strongest oaths that He will not resurrect the dead. But yes, this is a true promise upon Him, though most people do not know. 16:38

To clarify what they differed about, and so the disbelievers may realize they were wrong. 16:39

Not Understandable
These are parables We set forth for people, but only the knowledgeable understand them. 29:43

Muhammad and Prayer
Prayer of Comfort
Did We not expand your heart? 94:1

And lift the burden from you, 94:2

That weighed heavily on your back? 94:3

And raise your name high? 94:4

Indeed, with hardship comes ease. 94:5

With hardship comes ease. 94:6

So, when you are free, strive onward, 94:7

And turn to your Lord with devotion. 94:8

Recite
Read, in the name of your Lord who created. 96:1

Created man from a clinging form. 96:2

Read, for your Lord is most generous. 96:3

The One who taught by the pen. 96:4

Taught man what he never knew. 96:5

Prayer
Say: “My Lord, if You should show me what they are promised, 23:93

Then, my Lord, do not place me among the wrongdoing people.” 23:94

And We are fully capable of showing you what We have promised them. 23:95

Repel evil with what is better. We know well what they say. 23:96

And say: “My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the whispers of devils, 23:97

And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, from their presence.” 23:98

Praying
Your Lord knows that you stand in prayer nearly two-thirds of the night, or half of it, or a third, as do some of those with you. 73:20

Patience
So be patient with what they say, and glorify your Lord with praise before sunrise and before sunset. 50:39

And glorify Him in the night and after prostration. 50:40

So be patient for your Lord’s command, for you are under Our watch. And glorify your Lord with praise when you rise, 52:48

So be patient, for your patience is only through Allah. Do not grieve over them, nor be distressed by their schemes. 16:127

Be patient, for Allah does not let the reward of the righteous go to waste. 11:115

Allah and Muhammad
Revealed
Thus, does He inspire you, as He did those before you? 42:3

Supported
Whoever thinks Allah will not help him in this world and the next, let him stretch a rope to the sky, then sever it, and see if his plan can remove what enrages him. 22:15

Saddened
We know that their words grieve you, but it is not you they reject; it is Allah’s signs that the wrongdoers deny. 6:33

Sufficient
Some among them hurt the Prophet, saying, “He listens to everyone.” Say, “He listens to what is good for you, believing in Allah, trusting the believers, and being a mercy to those who believe.” 9:61

They swear to you to please you, but it is Allah and His Messenger they should seek to please, if they are true believers. 9:62

But if they turn away, say, “Allah is sufficient for me. 9:129

Judge
He said, “My Lord, judge with truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the One whose help is sought against what you describe.” 21:112

Protector
But Allah would not punish them while you were among them, nor would He punish them while they sought forgiveness. 8:33

Protected
O Messenger! Allah will protect you from the people. 5:67

Praised by Allah
Those who convey Allah’s messages and fear Him alone; none should be feared except Allah. 33:39

Allah
These are unseen events We reveal to you. You did not know them, nor did your people before this. So be patient, the outcome belongs to the righteous. 11:49

"This is from the unseen knowledge We reveal to you, O Prophet. You were not present when they plotted against Yusuf." 12:102

Say, “My prayer, my worship, my life, and my death are for Allah 6:162

“He has no partner. This is what I have been commanded, and I am the first to submit.” 6:164

Say, “Shall I seek a lord other than Allah, when He is the Lord of all things? Every soul earns only for itself, and no bearer of burdens will carry another’s burden. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you of what you differed in.” 6:165

A Blind Man
He frowned and turned away. 80:1

Because the blind man approached him. 80:2

But how do you know? Perhaps he seeks purity. 80:3

Or wishes to be reminded, and the reminder would benefit him. 80:4

Yet as for the one who thinks himself self-sufficient. 80:5

You give him your attention. 80:6

Though you are not responsible if he does not seek purification. 80:7

But as for the one who comes to you eagerly. 80:8

With reverence in his heart. 80:9

You neglect him. 80:10
