Allah and Paradise
The Day
The Day He gathers you for the Day of Gathering, that is the Day of mutual loss and gain. 64:9
​
No misfortune strikes except by Allah’s permission. Whoever believes in Allah, He guides their heart. 64:11
​
On the Day We gather the righteous before the Most Merciful in honour, 19:85
​
And each of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Judgment. 19:95
​
That Day is certain, so let whoever wills take a path back to his Lord. 78:39
​
Allah will declare, “This is the Day when the truthful will benefit from their truthfulness. 5:119
​
On that Day, all authority belongs to Allah. 22:56
​
Whoever comes with good deeds will have better than what he brought 28:84
​
This is the promised reward for you on the Day of Reckoning. 38:53
​
This is Our provision, never to be exhausted. 38:54
​
So set your face toward the upright religion before an irreversible Day comes from Allah. On that Day, they will be divided. 30:43
​
Are people who are not distracted by trade or commerce from remembering Allah, establishing prayer, and giving charity. They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will tremble, 24:37
​
Favoured
See how We have favoured some over others in this world, yet the Hereafter is far greater in rank and distinction. 17:21
​
Praise Allah
They will say, "Praise be to Allah, who fulfilled His promise and granted us this land to settle in Paradise as we please. 39:74
​
Peace
Their greeting on the Day they meet Him will be “Peace,”. 14:23, 15:46, 16:32, 19:62, 25:75, 33:44, 36:58, 39:73, 56:26, 56:91
​
Enter it in peace. This is the Day of Eternity.” 50:34
​
“Eat and drink in peace for what you used to do.” 77:43
​
“Peace!”, a word from the Merciful Lord. 36:58
​
Tranquillity
It is He who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the believers, to increase them in faith upon faith. To Allah belong the forces of the heavens and the earth. 48:4
​
Judged
He will judge between them. 22:56
​
Forgiveness
O you who believe, turn to Allah with sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord will erase your sins and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow, on a Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet or those who believed with him. 66:8
​
In the Hereafter, there is forgiveness and pleasure from Allah. 57:20
​
Race toward forgiveness from your Lord 57:21
​
He will forgive your sins 61:12
​
For them is forgiveness and a great reward. 34:4, 35:7
​
Muslims and Paradise
Men and Women
Indeed, for the Muslim men and women, the faithful men and women, the obedient men and women, the truthful men and women, the patient men and women, the humble men and women, the charitable men and women, the fasting men and women, and those who guard their chastity and remember Allah often, Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward. 33:35
​
Whoever does good, whether male or female, while believing, We will grant them a good life and reward them according to the best of their deeds. 16:97
​
Allah has promised the believing men and women gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they will remain, 9:72, 48:5
​
For them is the home of peace with their Lord, and He is their protector because of what they used to do. 6:127
​
And those who believed, and whose descendants followed them in faith, We will join them with their descendants 52:21
​
Gardens of eternity, where they will enter along with the righteous among their parents, spouses, and children. 13:23, 40:8
​
On the Day you see the believers, their light shining before them and to their right, it will be said: “Glad tidings for you today. 57:12, 66:8
​
Almost Ruined
One of them will say, “I had a companion, 37:51
​
Who used to ask, ‘Are you really among those who believe, 37:52
​
That once we’re dead and turned to dust and bones, we’ll be brought to judgment?’” 37:53
​
He will say, “Shall we look for him?” 37:54
​
Then he will look and see him in the heart of Hell. 37:55
​
He will cry out, “By Allah! You nearly ruined me! 37:56
​
The Righteous
But whoever desires the Hereafter and strives for it with true effort while believing, his efforts will be appreciated. 17:19
​
This worldly life is nothing but distraction and amusement. The home of the Hereafter, that is the true life, if only they knew. 29:64
​
Do you prefer this life over the Hereafter? The pleasures of this life are insignificant compared to the Hereafter. 9:38
​
And the Hereafter is better for you than this life. 93:4
​
Soon your Lord will grant you, and you will be content. 93:5
​
That is the home of the Hereafter. We grant it to those who do not seek superiority or corruption in the land. The best outcome is for the righteous. 28:83
​
the ones nearest to divine favour. 56:11
​
But the righteous will be in a secure place. 44:51
​
But as for you, O tranquil soul, 89:27
​
Return to your Lord, pleased and pleasing. 89:28
​
They will be welcomed: “Enter in peace and security.” 15:46
​
Enter among My servants, 89:29
​
Passed over Hell
By your Lord, We will surely gather them and the devils, then We will bring them around Hell, kneeling. 19:69
​
And every one of you will pass over it, this is a decree from your Lord. 19:71
​
Then We will save those who were mindful and leave the wrongdoers there, on their knees. 19:72
​
Companions of the Right
Those on the right, blessed and secure. 56:8, 56:27, 56:38, 56:90, 74:39, 90:18
​
As for the one given his record in his right hand, 84:7
​
He will have an easy reckoning, 84:8
​
“I was sure I would meet my reckoning.” 69:20
​
And return to his people in joy. 84:9
​
But those whose faces shine will be in Allah’s mercy, dwelling there forever. 3:107
​
Their Lord will admit them into His mercy. 45:30
​
Faces that Day will be radiant, 75:22, 83:24
​
Looking toward their Lord. 75:23
​
Faces that Day will shine, 80:38
​
Laughing, rejoicing. 80:39
​
Faces that Day will be radiant, 88:8
​
Satisfied with their striving, 88:9
​
And what will make you understand the steep path? 90:12
​
It is freeing a slave, 90:13
​
Or feeding in times of hunger, 90:14
​
An orphan close to you, 90:15
​
Or a destitute lying in the dust. 90:16
​
Then to be among those who believe, who encourage patience and mercy. 90:17
​
These are the companions of the right. 90:18
​
What a beautiful home and resting place. 25:76
​
Former People
A multitude from the earliest generations, 56:13, 56:39
​
And a select few from later ones. 56:14, 56:40
​
Deeds to Attain Paradise
Righteous Deeds
But those who do righteous deeds, whether man or woman, will enter Paradise, never wronged in the least. 4:124
Those who believe and do good deeds 2:25, 2:82, 3:57, 4:57, 4:122, 7:42, 11:11, 11:23, 14:23, 18:30, 18:107, 19:60, 19:96, 22:14, 22:23, 22:56, 29:58, 30:15, 31:8, 32:19, 34:4, 34:37, 35:7, 41:8, 45:30, 47:12, 64:9, 65:11, 84:25, 85:11, 95:6
​
They will enter Paradise and will not be wronged. 19:60
​
The Most Merciful will grant them love. 19:96
​
But those who believe, do good, and remain humble before their Lord 11:23
​
But those who believe, do righteous deeds, and affirm what was sent down to Muhammad, which is the truth from their Lord. 47:2
​
“But whoever comes as a believer, having done righteous deeds, will have the highest ranks.” 20:75
​
He is the One who blesses you, along with His angels, to bring you out of darkness into light. 33:43
​
A guide, warning of severe punishment from Him and bringing good news to the believers who do righteous deeds. 18:2
​
Those who believe and do good are the best of creation. 98:7
​
Remove Misdeeds
That Day, you will be brought forth; nothing of you will remain hidden. 69:18
​
The Day when they will emerge, nothing about them will be hidden from Allah. "To whom does sovereignty belong today?" 40:16
​
On that Day, every soul will be repaid for what it has earned. No injustice will be done. 40:17
​
He will erase their sins and set their hearts at ease. 5:12, 47:2, 48:5, 64:9, 66:8
​
Those are the ones from whom We accept the best of what they did and overlook their misdeeds. 46:16
​
We will remove all resentment from their hearts 7:43, 15:47
​
They will say, “Praise be to Allah, who removed sorrow from us. 35:34
​
Their light will shine ahead of them and to their right, and they will say, “Our Lord, perfect our light for us and forgive us. 66:8
​
Guided
But those who are guided, He increases them in guidance and grants them their righteousness. 47:17
​
He will guide them, set their affairs right, 47:5
​
They will say, “Praise be to Allah, who guided us here! We would not have found the way without His guidance. The messengers of our Lord indeed brought the truth.” 7:43
​
And those who honour their trusts and covenants, 70:32
​
And those who stand firm in their testimonies, 70:33
​
Vows
They fulfil their vows and fear a Day whose evil spreads far and wide. 76:7
​
Register
No calamity strikes upon the earth or within yourselves except that it is written in a decree before it happens. 57:22
​
So do not grieve over what has passed, nor exult in what has been given to you. 57:23
​
No! The record of the righteous is in Illiyyun (seventh heaven) 83:18
​
And what will make you understand Illiyyun? 83:19
​
A book inscribed, 83:20
​
Witnessed by those brought near. 83:21
​
Their light will shine ahead of them and to their right, and they will say, “Our Lord, perfect our light for us and forgive us. 66:8
​
The earth will shine with the light of its Lord, the record will be placed, and the prophets and witnesses will be brought forth. Judgment will be passed in truth, and none will be wronged. 39:69
​
Every soul will be repaid in full for what it did. He knows best what they do. 39:70
​
As for the one who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, “Here, read my record!” 69:19
​
Scales
The scales on that Day will be just; those whose deeds weigh heavily will be the successful. 7:8, 23:102, 101:6
​
Not Grieving
We send messengers only as bearers of good news and warnings. Those who believe and reform will have no fear, nor will they grieve. 6:48
​
Indeed, the allies of Allah will have no fear, nor will they grieve. 10:62
​
Paradise Overview
Pleasant Life
This is a reminder, and for the righteous is a beautiful return. 38:49
​
This is a reminder, so whoever wills may take a path to their Lord. 76:29
​
No fatigue will touch them there, nor will they ever be removed from it. 15:48
​
So, he will be in a life of bliss, 69:21, 101:7
​
Paradise
Allah calls you toward Paradise and forgiveness by His grace. 2:221
​
The likeness of the Garden promised to the righteous. 47:15
​
That is Paradise, which We grant to those of Our servants who are mindful. 19:63
​
A Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous. 3:133
​
The people of Paradise are the ones who will triumph. 59:20
​
The companions of Paradise will have the best dwelling and finest resting place. 25:24
​
Paradise will be his home. 79:41
​
They will be companions of Paradise 2:82, 7:42, 10:26, 11:23, 46:14, 46:16
​
The people of Paradise will be joyfully occupied that Day. 36:55
​
But those who were mindful of their Lord will be led to Paradise in groups. When they reach it, its gates will open, and its keepers will say, "Peace be upon you! You have done well, so enter it, to remain forever." 39:73, 89:30
​
Enter it in peace. This is the Day of Eternity.” 50:34
​
A voice will call out, “This is Paradise, granted to you for what you used to do.” 7:43, 43:72
​
But Allah will admit those who believe and do good into Gardens beneath which rivers flow. 22:14, 29:58, 47:6
​
And Paradise will be brought near to the mindful, not far. 50:31
​
Who will inherit Paradise, where they will dwell forever. 23:11
​
“This is what you were promised, for everyone who turned and kept watch, 50:32
​
The likeness of Paradise is promised to the righteous. This is the reward for the righteous. 13:35
​
Enter Paradise, you and your spouses, rejoicing.” 43:70
​
Gardens in Paradise
Honoured
They will be honoured in gardens. 70:35
​
How my Lord has forgiven me and made me one of the honoured. 36:27
​
Lofty Dwellings
Those who believe and do good, we will grant them lofty dwellings in Paradise, what an excellent reward for those who strive, 29:58, 34:37, 39:20, 69:22, 88:10
​
Gardens of Refuge
The mindful will be among gardens and rivers, 54:54, 78:32
​
Say, ‘Shall I tell you of something better? For those mindful of Allah, there are gardens, where they will remain forever, with Allah’s pleasure. 3:15
​
But those who are mindful of their Lord will have gardens, a gift from Allah. What is with Allah is far better for the righteous. 3:198
​
As for those who believe and do good, for them are Gardens of Shelter, a welcome for what they used to do. 32:19
​
In gardens, asking one another 74:40
​
Near it lies the Garden of Refuge. 53:15
​
They shall dwell beneath thornless Lote trees 56:28
​
At the Lote Tree of the farthest boundary. 53:14
​
When the Lote Tree was veiled in mystery, 53:16
​
The sight did not waver, nor did it overreach. 53:17
​
He truly saw some of the greatest signs of his Lord. 53:18
​
Two Gardens
But for those who feared standing before their Lord, there are two gardens. 55:46
​
And beyond these two, there are two more gardens. 55:62
​
In them are two flowing springs. 55:50, 55:66
​
Lush with branches. 55:48, 55:64
​
In them are fruits, date palms, and pomegranates. 55:68
​
In them are fruits of every kind, in pairs. 55:52
​
Gardens of Paradise
A paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His messengers. That is Allah’s grace, which He grants to whom He wills. He is the Lord of infinite bounty. 57:21
​
But those who believe and do righteous deeds will have gardens of Paradise as their dwelling, 2:25, 5:119, 18:107, 30:15
​
An unbreakable promise from Allah. Who speaks more truthfully than Him? 4:122
​
Gardens of Delight
Those who believed and did good will be in Gardens of Delight. 22:56, 31:8, 68:34, 76:12, 82:13
​
The mindful will be in gardens and delight, 10:9, 37:43, 52:17, 56:12, 83:22
​
Wherever you look, you will see bliss and a vast kingdom. 76:20
​
If one is among the nearest, 56:88
​
Then ease, fragrance, and gardens await. 56:89
​
Their Lord gives them good news of mercy, pleasure, and gardens where lasting bliss awaits. 9:21
​
Protected
They will not taste death there, beyond the first death. And He will shield them from the torment of the Blaze. 44:56
​
And shield them from evil deeds. Whoever You shield from evil on that Day, You have granted mercy. 40:9
​
Rivers
Give glad tidings to those who believe and do good deeds: they will have gardens with flowing rivers. 2:25, 2:266, 3:15, 3:136, 3:195, 3:198, 4:13, 4:57, 4:122, 5:12, 5:85, 5:119, 7:43, 9:72, 9:89, 9:100, 10:9, 13:35, 14:23, 16:31, 18:31, 20:76, 22:14, 22:23, 25:10, 29:58, 48:17, 39:20, 47:12, 48:5, 54:54, 57:12, 58:22, 61:12, 64:9, 65:11, 66:8, 85:11, 98:8
​
In it are rivers of pure water, rivers of milk never souring, rivers of wine delightful to drink, and rivers of purified honey. 47:15
​
But the righteous will be in gardens with flowing springs. 15:45, 44:52, 55:50, 55:66, 88:12
​
Streams flowing freely, 56:31
​
Gardens of Eternity
He will admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow, and into pleasant dwellings in the gardens of eternity. 9:72, 40:8, 61:12
​
Gardens of eternity, where they will enter 13:23, 16:31, 18:31, 20:76, 35:33, 98:8
​
Gardens of eternity, with gates flung open to welcome them 38:50
​
Gardens of eternity, promised by the Most Merciful to His servants, unseen yet certain. His promise is always fulfilled. 19:61
​
Abide Eternally
But the blessed will be in Paradise, dwelling there as long as the heavens and the earth endure, unless your Lord wills otherwise, a reward without end. 11:108, 41:8, 84:25, 95:6
​
They will abide there forever. 2:25, 2:82, 3:15, 3:107, 3:136, 3:198, 4:57, 4:122, 5:119, 7:42, 9:22, 9:72, 9:100, 10:26, 11:23, 14:23, 18:108, 20:76, 25:76 29:58, 31:9, 35:33, 39:73, 43:71, 46:14, 48:5, 57:12, 64:9, 65:11, 98:8
​
Say: “Is this better, or the Garden of Eternity promised to the righteous? It is their reward and destination. 25:15
​
Where they will remain forever, never wishing to leave. 18:108
​
This is Allah’s true promise 31:9
​
Facilities within Paradise
Provision
Allah extends provision abundantly or restricts it for whomever He wills. 13:26, 17:30, 28:82, 29:62, 30:37, 34:36, 34:39, 39:52, 42:12
​
These are the true believers; they will have high ranks with their Lord, forgiveness, and a generous provision. 8:4, 8:74, 22:50, 24:26, 33:71, 34:4
​
And in the sky is your provision and what you are promised. 51:22
​
By the Lord of the sky and the earth, it is as true as your very speech. 51:23
​
Wishes Granted
They will have whatever they desire. This is how Allah rewards the righteous. 16:31, 50:35
​
They will have whatever they desire within it, forever. That is a binding promise upon your Lord.” 25:16
​
We will not reduce anything from their deeds. Every soul earns what it has done. 52:21
​
Rejoicing in what their Lord has granted them. 52:18
​
Good Speech
They were guided to the best of speech and guided to the path of the Praiseworthy. 22:24
​
In gardens, asking one another 74:40
​
They will hear no idle talk or lies. 52:23, 56:25, 78:35, 88:11
Their greeting will be “Peace.” 14:23, 19:62, 56:26
​
None can address Him without His permission. 78:37
​
Reclining
Reclining on adorned couches, 56:15
​
Reclining on couches, gazing around. 83:35
​
Reclining on couches, facing one another. 15:47, 37:44, 38:51, 52:20
​
Facing one another in joy. 56:16
​
They and their spouses, reclining on couches in the shade. 36:56
​
Elevated couches prepared for them. 56:34
​
Reclining upon elevated couches. What a splendid reward and an excellent resting place! 18:31, 76:13, 83:23, 88:13
​
Seats
In a seat of truth, near the Sovereign, the Almighty. 54:55
​
Cushions
They will recline on cushions lined with rich brocade, and the fruits of both gardens will be within easy reach. 55:54
​
Reclining on green cushions 55:76, 88:15
​
Carpet
and exquisite carpets 55:76, 88:16
​
Musk
Its seal is musk, let those who seek strive for this! 83:26
​
A drink mixed with Tasnim 83:27
​
Clothing
They will wear green garments of fine silk and brocade. 18:31, 22:23, 35:33, 44:53, 76:12, 76:21
​
Bracelets
They will be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls 18:31, 22:23, 35:33
​
They will be adorned with silver bracelets. 76:21
​
Shade
Its food and shade are everlasting. 13:35, 36:56, 56:30, 76:14
​
Indeed, the righteous will be amid shade and springs, 77:41
​
Not Hot or Cold
They will feel neither scorching heat nor biting cold. 76:13
​
Eating and Drinking in Paradise
Eat and Drink
They will savour exquisite fruits and drinks. 38:51
​
“Eat and drink with joy for what you used to do.” 52:19, 69:24
​
“Eat and drink in peace for what you used to do.” 77:43
​
We will supply them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 52:22
​
Receptacles
Silver vessels will be passed around them, and goblets clear as crystal. 76:15, 78:34, 88:14
​
Crystal clear, made of silver, perfectly measured to their desire. 76:16
​
Plates
Platters of gold and cups will be passed among them, and in them will be whatever the soul desires and the eyes delight in. 43:71
​
Wine
Their Lord will give them a pure drink. 76:21
​
A cup will be passed around them from a flowing spring 37:45
​
A spring from which Allah’s servants drink, making it flow wherever they wish. 76:6, 83:28
​
From a spring there called Salsabīl. 76:18
​
They will pass around a cup among themselves, free of idle talk and sin. 52:23
​
With goblets, pitchers, and a flowing drink, 56:18
​
Served with pure, sealed drink. 83:25
​
The righteous will drink from a cup infused with camphor. 76:5
​
They will be given a drink mixed with ginger. 76:17
​
White, delicious to those who drink it. 37:46
​
Free from intoxication and harm. 37:47, 56:19
​
Fruit
Except for Allah’s devoted servants. 37:40
​
For them is a known provision. 37:41
​
Fruits, and they will be honoured. 37:42
​
They will call for every kind of fruit, in peace and safety. 44:55
​
They will have every kind of fruit and forgiveness from their Lord. 47:15
​
They will have fruits and whatever they desire. 36:57, 56:20, 77:42
​
Whenever they are given fruit as provision, they will say, ‘This is what we were provided before,’ and they will receive similar blessings. 2:25
​
You will have abundant fruit to eat. 43:73, 56:32
​
In them are fruits of every kind, in pairs. 55:52
​
And the fruits of both gardens will be within easy reach. 55:54
​
In them are fruits, date palms, and pomegranates. 55:68
​
Gardens and vineyards. 78:32
​
Banana trees with layered fruit. 56:29
​
Its fruits hanging low and near. 69:23, 76:14
​
never out of reach nor forbidden. 56:33
​
Its food is everlasting. 13:35
​
Meat
We will supply them with meat, whatever they desire. 52:22, 56:21
​
Houris
Produced
We have shaped their companions anew. 56:35
​
Beautiful
In them are noble companions, refined and beautiful. 55:70, 56:22
​
Fair
Pure and sheltered in pavilions. 55:72
​
Virgins
Untouched before by man or jinn. 55:56, 55:74, 56:36
​
Full Breasted
Voluptuous companions of equal age. 78:33
​
Eyes
Companions with large, beautiful eyes. 37:48, 44:54, 52:20, 56:22
​
With them will be companions of modest gaze. 37:48, 38:52, 55:56
​
Spouses
They will have purified spouses. 2:25, 3:15, 4:57
​
Equal Age
Companions of equal age. 78:33, 38:52, 56:37
​
Devoted
Devoted. 56:37
​
Eggs
As if they were hidden pearls. 37:49
​
Pearls
Like treasured pearls. 56:23
​
Rubies
Like rubies and coral. 55:58
​
Inquiring
Then they will turn to one another, inquiring. 37:50
​
Gift
A reward from your Lord, a gift well-measured. 78:36
​
Young Boys
And they will be served by eternal youths, when you see them, you’d think them scattered pearls. 76:19
​
And there will circulate among them youths, like hidden pearls. 52:24
​
Immortal youths serve them, 56:17
​
They will approach one another, asking questions. 52:25
​
They will say, “We were once, among our families, full of fear. 52:26
​
Rewarded
Reward
With Allah is a great reward. 9:22
​
That is the reward for those who purify themselves.” 20:76
​
He has prepared a generous reward for them. 33:44
​
And reward them, for their patience, 13:24, 25:75, 28:54, 76:12
​
Those who are patient and place their trust in their Lord. 29:59
​
Those who are patient and do good will have forgiveness and a great reward. 11:11, 33:35
​
Those who do good will have the best reward and even more. No darkness or disgrace will cover their faces 10:26
​
We will grant them a good life and reward them according to the best of their deeds. 16:97, 56:24
​
Those who believe and do righteous deeds, we do not let the reward of those who do good go to waste. 18:30
​
Allah will grant them their full reward. 3:57
​
Is the reward for goodness anything but goodness? 55:60
​
Those who believe and do good will have a double reward for what they did, 34:37
​
“This is your reward. Your striving has been appreciated.” 76:22
​
This is how Allah rewards the righteous. 16:31, 77:44
​
How excellent is the reward for those who strive! 3:136, 18:2, 29:58, 39:74
​
It is their reward and destination. 25:15
​
What a splendid reward and an excellent resting place! 18:31
​
And something else you love: help from Allah and a swift victory. So give glad tidings to the believers. 61:13
​
Attainment
But for the mindful, there is triumph. 78:31
​
That is the ultimate triumph. 5:119, 6:16, 37:60, 61:12, 64:9
​
This is the supreme triumph. 9:72, 9:89, 9:100, 9:111, 10:64, 40:9, 44:57, 45:30, 48:5, 57:12, 85:11
